Design Features of full welded forged steel ball valve

The body of ball valve is full welded,selects high quality forged material,and adopts the advanced forged forming technology to form two semi-spheres which are welded into a whole in the middle of the body.This welding technology differentiates the ball valve form others,and makes the valve more spherically,so the valve structure is more compacter,lighter and stronger.Besides,the middle direct welding realize highly accurate valve body manufacturing,makes fully and completely sealing between the seat and ball.The full welding instead of bolts completely avoids the outside leakage,so ball valve is the ideal product for under-ground,offshore working platform and under-sea equipments.

Adopting fixed plates or trunnion to support the ball

The top and bottom of the ball is supported by upper and lower fixed plates or stem and trunnion,and the ball is accurately placed in the center of the ball valve to achieve complete seals and precise movements.When plate adopted,the force exerted by the medium to the ball is distributed via the plate to the left and right bodies,so that the stem does not bear the blending moment from the medium,but only the torque from the ball rotation during the opening/closing of the valve.The low-friction PTFE Teflon composite bearings installed between the ball axis and fixed plate and between the stem and the trunnion can absorb ball moving action caused by the pressure of the medium.This structure brings stable actions and easy operations for the ball valves,and the required operation torque can be reduced,so smaller actuators can be used,and the cost is cut down.

As following graphic instruction,on seat bearing ring,set two soft sealing rings(A and B)and metal sealing spherical surface which can seal with the ball.Seat ring A is spring loaded,which seals the surface with the ball tightly to the surface to form an initial seat;When there is pressure generated from medium,the piston force is generated to make seal ring A elastically deformed and seal ring B fit the surface of the ball surface due to the piston effect caused by area difference,thus the second seal forms.When the medium pressure is rising.It will generate huge pressure to seal ring A and seal ring B,so the two seals have a greater elastic deformation,then metal seal ball surface compact with ball surface to form the third level of metal to metal seal.

As the above graphic instruction,the secondary seal device(seat grease injection valve)can be chosen according to the actual working condition,medium requirement,seal requirement,etc.Seat ring grease injection valve is a one-way valve,installed on the body,which can prevent the leakage and inject grease under the outside force.When secondary seal is required,there is a grease injecting channel and hole on the seat ring.The grease can form a seal between the seat and the ball,and then stop the leakage.

*In steam service , steam flashing is one of the factor which erode the spindle ( say valve stem) *The stem serves as a connector from the actuator to the inside of the valve and transmits this actuation force. Stems are either smooth for actuator controlled valves or threaded for manual valves. The smooth stems are surrounded by packing material to prevent leaking material from the valve. This packing is a wearable material and will have to be replaced during maintenance. With a smooth stem the ends are threaded to allow connection to the plug and the actuator. The stem must not only withstand a large amount of compression force during valve closure, but also have high tensile strength during valve opening. In addition, the stem must be very straight, or have low run out, in order to ensure good valve closure. This minimum run out also minimizes wear of the packing contained in the bonnet, which provides the seal against leakage. The stem may be provided with a shroud over the packing nut to prevent foreign bodies entering the packing material, which would accelerate wear. Disc material: Cast Iron or Ductile Iron Disc Aluminum-bronze Disc Stainless Steel Disc Nickel-plated Ductile Iron Lid material: engineering plastics, Cast Iron. THEY AREN'T ADJUSTABLE!!! The problem is the lifters are filled with oil and they won't compress to the point where the valves close all the way. You have to torque them to the proper setting, then turn the engine by hand untill the valves (lifters) have all had time to bleed down in the open position. It's a pain but you have to turn the engine till a few valves are open, then wait a few hours, mark those valves or write them down on a piece of paper, then turn it till some other ones are open, etc etc.. When you put lifters in new there's always some air in them, but when you take the pressure off a used one the spring pushes the plunger inside the lifter up, and it sucks in oil and becomes overprimed. By letting then sit for a while in the open position, the valve spring will push some of the oil out of the lifter, and allow it to reset to the proper adjustment next time the valve closes. Hence the term Hydraulic valve lash adjuster (lifter for short) DON'T WORRY YOU DON'T NEED A CAM OR NEW LIFTERS. THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME DOZENS OF TIMES.

Your water heating system is pumped through with a circulating pump and the temperature is controled by a thermostat. If If the house is hot then you have a thermostat problem OR there are zone valves located within the piping that opens and closes according to your thermostat setting. If you are not getting comfortable temps then check this little zone valve motor and replace. Just open all the baseboards covers until you locate a little zone valve motor valve. Change this out and see what happens.

EGR - Exhaust Gas Recirculation The EGR opens controls a valve that connects your exhaust manifold to your intake manifold. The EGR valve reintroduces engine exhaust back into the cylinders to reduce combustion efficiency during high rpms. This is to protect the engine and keep it from overheating. If you EGR is acting up and opening on low rpms then the car will spew out smoke due to unburned fuel and suffer from loss of power.

Anyways, you are wasting your money to replace the EGR valve. For the most part, they can just be cleaned out with a solvent like Gum-out or butyl cello-solve and returned to service. Usually, these valves get gummed up when the IAC valve is dirty or you are using cheap gas and/or cheap oil. You are right about being metric, but a 13mm is the same as a 1/2 inch. A 14mm is the same as a 9/16 inch. You can even clean this valve by using Amsoil Foaming Cleaner through the intake manifold with the engine running full warm. Eventaully, this cleaner will penetrate the valve and allow it to close. You can tap it lightly with a mallet. Follow with a Gum-out chaser. Good luck!!
