Q:How can I tell if my 2004 Ford Taurus a 12 or 24 valve?
the conventional suspect is a belt, maximum often a skill guidance belt, yet in some circumstances an A/C belt. purchase a can of belt dressing and spray it on the interior the belts jointly as the engine is idling, (pay attention for the fan!) you may hear the squealing quit immediately once you detect the perpetrator. next discover the reason at the back of the squeal, many times a belt this is in simple terms too unfastened. regulate the P/S or A/C unit to tighten the belt. it is going to pass some million/2 whilst depressed heavily between the two pulleys.
Q:ex: 4 stroke 16 valve engine
To give you an example: my car has a 4 stroke Otto cycle 4 cylinders engine. It has 16 valves. Every cylinder has 4 valves, 2 to intake fresh combustion fluid ad 2 for the exausts. It's a double over head camshaft engine (DOHC). A 2 stroke engine doesn't have valves as a 4stroke. In a 2 stroke engine (in Otto cycle, I don't know in Diesel cycle) the piston works as a valve. Take care
Q:I was just wondering if any body got there valve replaced, and if they are still having symptoms..Such as sweating, and shortness of breath.I do not know if i should see a cardologist, or the surgeon who replaced the valve.Any answers would be appreciated.Thank you.
Any side effects directly after or shortly after a major heart surgery or valve replacement would best be followed up by a visit to the cardiologist to make sure there are no other problems or problems with the new valve. This is a serious question and should be treated as so. Go see a doctor asap. That way, if nothing is wrong you have a piece of a mind instead of waiting and waiting.
Q:Com wires attached to com and all individual valve wires are attached. The valves work manually( turn on by hand), I open the valve to allow the box to take over and the sprinklers run. Is this just residual water in the lines??
I would test the leads inside the control box first... You will have to run the controls manually to troubleshoot the problem. Get a voltage meter to test for the 24 volts at the transformer connections inside the box... If you do not have the 24 volts then the problem will be the transformer. If you have the correct voltage from the transformer then you can test each of the station terminals to common. Test through each station to see if you have 24 volts at each station terminal, but you may have to remove the wires off to test. If you do not have power coming from each station… then the problem will be the rain bird control. The next step would be testing the wires… If you reconnect the wires… test just prior at each valve location to see if you have the 24 volts between the common and each station wire… if you can prove out that there is 24 volts at this location then you’re down to the final testing. Reconnect the valves – one side to the common and the other to each station wire… Getting the power (24v) to the valve should have cleared your problem. Good Luck… Running the valves manually will not affect the operation of the rainbird control... but with my rainbird valves.. you can shut off the valves completely and disable the electrical controls of the valve... make sure that you have not closed the valve off manually preventing the electrical side... a problem with rainbird controls. This does not have anything to do with residual water in the lines... I would test this side first before you get into the electrical side... could save you a lot of time.
Q:i recently had a new condensing boiler and water cylinder replaced the existing radiators all have thermostatic valves fitted to them and worked fine until the boiler was replaced now all of my radiators when turned on, get as hot as the radiator without the valve on, i put each valve on number 2 which should be slightly warm, instead they are very very hot to the point you cant hold your hand on them for long one of the bedroom radiators can be heard bubbling like a kettle, i find it hard to believe all the valves could suddenly develop a fault could there be another reason for this ie fault with the fitting of pipework i am really concerned as we have young children in the house any thoughts on this much would be much appreciated
I think you might be confusing a thermostatic mixing valve with a thermostatic on/off valve. The thermostatic valves on radiators are on/off valves. They don't control the temperature of the water, they just shut the radiators on or off when the room temperature goes below or above a certain point. The radiators with thermostatic valves *should* get as hot as the radiators without (at least until the room heats up). I'm guessing your new boiler is set to heat the water to a higher temperature than the old boiler.
Q:I just dropped my 3rd valve slide from my trumpet on the ground. It fell with the curved end first. I can't see any dents and it doesn't look bent, but I oiled it and everything and it's really hard to move. Could it be bent? How can I fix it?
Be sure that it is aligned correctly when you place it back in the valve casing. When you are putting it back in, it has to turn until you hear a click, indicating that the valve guide has fallen in the right space. This aligns the valve with all the ports. (The valve guide is a small plastic piece located under the valve spring. This valve guide must snap into a little notch inside the casing. When it does, the valve will be perfectly aligned. You will know when the valve guide is in the right place because you will feel and hear a click and the valve will not rotate any longer.) After thorough cleaning, oiling, and correct valve placement, if you still notice it sticking, take it to a repair shop to have it chemically cleaned. They are typically very good and will ensure your trumpet is in proper playing condition.
Q:I would like to know about the signal pneumatic valves are drivesn (PWM,PCM?) and about their bandwidth and bit rate. Where can i find info?Thanx!!
Go to the FESTO website. they should have all the answers for you in the downloadable litriture.
Q:I know nothing about toliets - so please bare with me. The water valve underneath my toliet is dripping and I have to turn off the water in order for it to stop. It's really annoying to have to turn the water on when I want to flush it and have to empty out the container that is catching all the time. I think it has something to do with the valve itself and I'm PRETTY sure something behind it needs to be tightened - Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?
If the leak is at the valve stem tighten the packing nut just below the stem, if leak is on either end of the valve tighten them with wrench also, if that doesn't work remove entire valve after shutting of water at main supply remove valve and take to hardware store to get a replacement valve, they will beable to tell you how to reinstall properly.
Q:I mean dropping the valve seat. And some mechanic told me that it dropped when the catalytic converter got clogged and it hurt the engine. But the most I've heard is that if I want to avoid this from happening I should be running the engine a bit colder because the valves weren't made with the right specs and after a 100,000 miles they become a bit loose and when the engine gets to the normal temperature or just a bit above, the valve seats would drop. Does ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?
Those old escorts ran forever. I don't fully understand your question. Are you having any problems with the engine now? If the engine is running like it always has, I think you are worrying about a stray comment from a mechanic. If one of the valves seats moves out of position, you will know. The engine will start making ticking sounds and you may lose power. If none of that is happening, you are worried about nothing. If you are having some of those issues, then take the car to a competent mechanic have the problem diagnosed and get the head rebuilt. It's not that expensive on that engine. Then you will have new valves, new seats, new guides and a very clean head.
Q:My car has been sputtering and hesitating when I hit the gas. My friend's boyfriend says it is a bad erg valve does that sound right?
i would say fill up with hightest put injector cleaner and run some dry gas. that will clean your injectors and make sure there is no water in the gas. change your fuel filter. check a plug. does it look ok? what year? miles?
