FAQ

1.    For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?

—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.

2.    What is the MOQ for this tile?

—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.

3.    Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?

—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.

Basic Information :

Q:What are the general equipment needed to open a tile factory?
In general, the opening of the tile factory is the need for those ceramic processing machinery, two manual cutting machine, a circular polishing machine. That is more traditional. If you now want to add tiles processing plant, it should be on the most advanced equipment, and provincial labor, and competitive. Should choose, a circular line machine, a CNC cutting machine, a manual cutting machine. With these three devices, then take a large project, then take a large project to do no problem. Manual cutting machine is responsible for cutting the tiles, the arc line machine is to do a variety of effects, trimming, slotting, chamfering, grinding round edge, polished, the French side, duck mouth, shaped bar.
Q:for making cement decorative hand made cement tile there is device sometime call cookie cutter also to portrait some design is called divider
The metal frame that divides the tile into different sections is made from strips of metal carefully bent and soldered into place. I have seen steel ones and also brass mold patterns. The key to it is to have the bottom of the strips perfectly flat and level so that when you pour in the liquid cement mix, each color stays in its own compartment. See the link below to see a mold pattern and also the finished tile from it. A lot of history and more photos are on the second link.
Q:On those tiles, can you skate on them with ice skates. I was thinking about getting them but I wasn‘t sure. Last but not least, is there a different kind of tiles that are cheaper. Thanks!
I think I understand your question, the tiles you can't skate on unless you have roller hockey skates, it's called sport court. I play roller hockey and ice and the tiles for roller SUCK! If I were you I'd just go fin a certain kind of paint I can't recall the name of the brand, but paint the garrage floor with it and you can skate in there and stick handle if you have enough room. Hope this helps
Q:We just bought an old house and the previous owners did a really poor paint job. I scratched off some paint on the tiles in the breakfast nook and the original tile looks really nice. I want to remove the rest of the paint without damaging the tiles.
Providing the tile you are discribing is a fired material, you can't hurt it with almost any chemical. Think of the glazed top of the tile as being a glass surface. An exception might be if the glaze has craze lines in the surface. Colors from paint spatters can find their way into these cracks and are almost impossible to get out. SO test the chemical in a small area first. Some paints will not be easily effected by thinners or mineral spirits .you may have to try Turpentine or equal. Acetone is stronger yet. It's the base for fingernail polish remover with a little oil smell good added. A small razor blade paint scraper is also handy. When using a razor make sure first that it dosn't leave a silver like scratch mark on the surface. This is the information that I found at the site below. I bought big bottles of cheap fingernail polish remover. Worked like a charm. I also used the finest grade of steel wool. And I used a plastic scraper so as not to scratch the surface. Hope this helps!! Have fun!!
Q:I have a very outdated bathroom with pink tile covering just about every wall. I love to do DIY projects but can‘t afford to replace the tile. I can however afford to paint it. I read up on it and found the paint directions but don‘t want the end result to look tacky. Has anyone done this and liked the results?
Go for it! It won't look tacky if the instructions are followed. Be sure to very thoroughly clean the tile with a cleaner made for tile and grout, and use a scrub brush to scrub the tile and the grout lines well. If you plan to also paint the grout, you must let the grout dry for at least 48 hours. The longest lasting paint for this application, and one that with withstand peeling the longest, is oil-based paint. The cleanup process for oil-based paint could be a drawback, but for a long lasting finish it is the way to go. If you don't want to go with oil-based, water-based paints that contain a urethane resin are good paints to use as well. I would strongly recommend not painting the tile on the walls of the tub/shower, as the finish will not last due to the moisture and humidity in the shower. For this area, you can use a tile epoxy paint (usually available in white and creme color) and it will look good and protect the tile from the water. If going this route, be sure to ventilate the area as best as you can as the fumes are strong...but they will go away after 1-2 days. You can do this project, and it will look good. Best of luck!
Q:im layng tile and the room is 13 long and 11 wide how many tiles would that take
I know you had enough schooling to use a calculator. if not a pencil and division.. Size of tiles matter. They do not sell half a tile so you got to go with a whole one and then cut it to size. So lay some tiles out dry on the floor with the proper grout spacing and count them up when you get a foot worth.(or two feet on a flat floor) as maybe by the time you get to 13 or 11 it is only one tile extra you got to figure with.. Basically the tiles go to a wall and if there is extra that is cut off and put on the next wall(like the tiles were bent) so it looks continuous.. Or just use your calculator and multiply 13 and 11(this sounds like you are only doing the floor?) and add 10% more tiles as a just in case thing and you will get the same batch color of all the tiles. Chances are you can return the unused ones for a full refund. Ask the sales people about that while you are buying them.
Q:we are installing 2inch hexagonal tile on the shower floor. anyone have any special tricks to getting them lined up properly? the tile guys have put it down and a lot of the spaces between the tiles are uneven. keep in mind the shower floor slopes a little towards the drain
I tile every day of my life, and assume now it's TOO LATE to change the spacing. 2 inch octagonals should have come with a mesh backing for one thing, in sections that approximate a square foot at least. The mesh is supposed to insure at least a 1/8th inch grout space, between the tiles. Unless the contractor is willing to pull it all and start over, and/or you want to take civil action against them. you might just have to consider the other, hopefully better aspects of the job and live with it. In the SLOPE, which should actually be more a modified concave bowl effect to the drain, it's possible that the tiles would have to be singularly set, and if installed properly would have thinner grout lines to the point where they meet the drain. I'd probably file a complaint if I were you, but you may not get any resolution to the problem. I crafted a spacer tool, that allows spacing at the various distances where the grout lines are actually lined up, which happens with each adjacent tile, but can be crafted to stretch a foot or more when setting meshed sections. Steven Wolf ADDED THOUGHT: Since you added details, certainly you can CUT tiles to separate them. The issue is now, the dry time allowed, at 12:16 AM EST. The TILE sections should have come out of the box with the corner octagons actually protuding some, to FIT into any adjacent sections already laid. If the contractor was a decent one, HE would have determined the layout, and cut the corner tiles out, of SOME of the meshed sections, allowing the new, adjacent section to fit exactly in. Added added note: No offense but the pics show slight variances, but nothing critical. To change and entire line, might mean pulling up an entire square, and using NEW
Q:I am making a movie for school and i need to hang things from our ceiling to the ground. The problem is is that the ceiling is an acoustic tile and i‘m not sure if it will hold enough. (This is one of the older acoustic tiles with all of the holes in them.
If it's a suspended ceiling you're talking about, with the tiles held in metal framing, you can buy special little hooks that clip on to the metal framework. You should be able to get them at Home Depot, and probably office supply stores. You can also simply use a piece of thin wire and tie that around the metal frame, squashing it in a little so the tile sits flush again. If whatever you're hanging is too heavy for that metal framework, you have to take out a tile and find something higher in the ceiling that's sturdier. The ceilings are usually suspended from pretty strong wire. Find where that wire or other support is and you know where the strong point of the suspended part is. If it's acoustic tiles over a solid surface, you have to find a structural part inside the ceiling. A stud finder will come in handy for that but unfortunately you'll have to make a hole in the tiled surface to hang anything.
Q:I used acetone on my tile to get up some hair dye and it stained the tile white where the acetone was. i know now that i probably shouldn‘t have done this so please just answer question. How do i fix it?
Without knowing what kind of tile you're talking about, it's hard to give an accurate answer. Because your tile was blemished by the acetone, I assume it is a matte finish tile, which will absorb moisture. You will probably have to replace the tile. First, go to a tile or flooring store, explain what you did and what happened and see what they recommend. As for fixing the tile, if you haven't removed old grout, fractured and removed a tile, cleaned out old thinset, laid new thinset, the tile, and grouted, I suggest you leave this to a professional.
Q:A 15 foot by 18 foot porch floor is to be completely coverede with 1-foot square tiles. White tiles are to cover the center of the floor and green tiles are to form a 2-foot wide border around the white tiles. How many green tiles and how many white tiles will be needed?/. help plz. can you show work thanks very much.
Draw a picture and use practical thinking plus arithmetic. Then just add up the area of the sections of tile.
