Slip resistance:
Boards of Techwoodn according to ASTM D2394-05. This is the best ranking for bare-foot slip resistance.
Weathering resistance:

Abrasion resistance:

- Q:I bought lamanited flooring, the gentlemen that sold it to me said it was easy to install. I've done tile before so I believed him. I spend close to $400. worth. I ruin some planks because I tried to glue it. Anyway I would like to hire someone to do it, if not how can I do it myself. I know part of the problem is the floor is not even.
- If the floor is not even because you have a subfloor problem then a carpenter should fix it for you. If it is a large unevenness problem you can use more plywood or something like luan on the floor first to bring it level, then patch with thinset or another liquid patcher to get it even. If you go to a flooring store and ask for a liquid leveler or an embosser someone should be able to help you. Really the laminate should be easy to install yourself because it is all tounge and groove. It is the floor evening that should be left to a professional. Whant Brand is the laminate? Most websites of companies that make laminate have instructions on how to install it. Good luck
- Q:My floor is falling out and it's wet but the moisture is not coming from the ceiling how would moiature get under my mobile home to the point of rotting the floor and how do I stop it
- You could have a leaking pipe underneath the trailer where the moisture is, or if it's near a wall the water could be coming down inside the wall from a leak at the edge of your roof or a pipe inside the wall. The only way to stop it is to find out where it's coming from.

- You cant seal , varnish, or shellac laminate flooring. If its engineered wood flooring you can sand and finish it between 1-3 depending on the type of wood it is. Most laminaye flooring isnt made for high moisture content areas and when it is it has to be installed exactly how the manufacturer specify's. Hate to break it to you, but your out of luck on this one. Allure flooring which is sold mostly by Home depot makes a great rubber flooring thats based on the laminate floor idea , and its ideal for high moisture content areas.
- Q:My condo is on the 3rd floor & I'm looking to replace the 3/4 white oak floor with 5/8 strand woven bamboo.After removing some of the oak I have found that the sub-floor is a concrete slab (I'm unsure of the thickness) covered by 1/8 of insulayment underlayment. On top of that are two(2) layers of 3/8 plywood screwed to eachother with 3/4 screws. The plywood is not attached to the 1/8 insulayment mat or the concrete slab in any way. So my first question is, is this normal floor construction?My seconod question has to do with the fact that there appears to be green mold between the plywood planks & behind the baseboard. Should I be worried?Thanks in advance. I appreciate any help you can offer.
- It is pretty common to use a plywood underlay in concrete muti-story residential. It acts to keep the floor covering warm and dry. a vapor barrier layer is also a must have. The green mold may not be mold at all, it can be a form on oxidation due to moisture inherent in concrete. If you tear out the plywood, you should replace it for your flooring to last. a strong bleach mix and mop will kill mold.

- Jacking up a floor will tear it away from the walls. All 4 walls. The floor is connected to the walls.

- Q:I am looking at a home from 1939. i know asbestos was used from like the1970's back very often.i want to lay down different flooring in the kitchen,however i do now want to mess with the removal of the crap(asbestos)is there a way to put flooring down without having to get all this professional removal done. and no i don't want to mess with doing it myself either.
- If the floor is in good shape, and there no local ordinances about removing the previous tile why not. If there is asbestos in the flooring, which I doubt, It is safer to leave it where it is and seal it under a new floor. Pry up a corner and look to see how many layer you have though. It may be that things are getting kind of tall in that kitchen in relation to the adjacent floors. If there is damage in the old floor and gaps between tiles you will want a filler product and check to see how level the floor is too. You may have to level it if it has deformed appreciatively over the years. Check some of the DYI sites here on the web some have very good tutorials and product recommendations.
