Q:I have a baby monitoring system camera that isn't wireless and I want to make it wireless. It comes with a wire that plugs into an a/c adapter that goes into the wall. The a/c adapter has an input of 120ac and an output of 12dc. I also have a battery holder that holds 8 AA batteries and has two wires coming out of it. I want to cut the wire going to the a/c adapter and hook it up to the wire going to the battery holder. Will this work and how do I hook up the wires?
The easy answer would be to solder a DC connector identical to the one on the output end of the AC adapter to the two wires coming off the battery holder (red to center pin, black to ring). Here's the not so easy part: What is the current (amperage) required by the camera? The voltage of 8 AA batteries may equal 12VDC, but they probably won't be able to handle the amount of current the camera needs to work. Larger 12VDC batteries might work, but make it less portable, and the operating time might still be limited. Maybe a 12VDC battery from a power back up unit? Is the power cable the only think keeping his camera from being wireless? How does it transmit its signal?
Q:Wire on the 3 +2 with 4 +1 What is the meaning, please speak of the popular point, too professional do not understand.
One-two lines at the same time when the work of high current, there may be some voltage drop is right, but the sound when the shutdown, it should be hard disk head power after the return of the sound, this disk I have one, but also this Sound, is normal, is not the reason for power supply. You use a sufficient power supply, shut down will be so loud. So be assured with it.
Q:I transferred to a new University this fall as an upperclassman and the neighborhood surrounding it isn't exactly nice. It is sort of rough. I have to park in the neighborhood during the day and walk 4 to 5 blocks to school *usually* and the first week I was there I noticed a pair of white sneakers with a blue stripe thrown over an electrical wire at an intersection, like an exclamation point. A few weeks later, there is another pair of sneakers, white with a RED stripe. My imagination has been running absolutely wild about this.A friend mentioned that this might be gang related. In memorial of someone who died or as a declaration of territory. Thoughts or facts?
There really are a lot of different possible meanings for shoes over a telephone wire. It could mark gang territory or drug availability (even though these are pretty ineffective since police aren't idiots). It could be a memorial to someone who died, but that's a pretty lousy memorial. Or, as it was when I used to do it, it could just be kids having some fun with their old shoes. If you really aren't feeling well about this, you might stop by the police department and ask them if they know anything about it.
Q:I have two side-by-side outlets. One does not work at all. I've checked all the connections and cannot get it to work.I noticed that the adjacent box has a black and white wire connected while the error box only had a red and white wire going to the box. Is this right? When I test the wires going into the box, there is no voltage whatsoever.
In the 50's they use to split circuit kitchen plugs Black wire to the top half of the plug on 1 breaker the red wire on the bottom half on a different breaker. When you your kit was renovated at some point they separated the plugs and put black on 1 and red on the other. With all that said do you have GFI plugs in the kit. Check them How many plugs do you have in the kit. The problem could be in a plug that is working PS I have never seen a kit plug controlled by a switch Email me if you want more help
Q:I am running a new 15 amp breaker to 2 new outlets. I wired the first outlet black to brass, white to silver and bare copper to the green screw in the metal box. I then took a new length of wire and connected to my first outlet bottom screws the same way white to silver black to brass an bare copper to the other green screw in the box. then ran the wire to the second outlet and connected it the same way as the other. when i hook up the breaker and restore power the breaker trips. i don't know what i have done wrong Someone please help
The ground wire should be attached to the actual ground screw on the outlet as well, so you should be coming into box one wired just as you have it with white to silver screw and black to the brass colored screw. The ground should enter the box, wrap around the ground screw in the box, and then attach to the ground screw on the outlet itself. If you are going to the next box, all your connections are the same in there as you mentioned, except the ground needs to be continued into box 2 the same way, from the ground screw in box one ( under the screw in the box) to the screw in box 2, and then to the ground screw on the outlet. My guess is that somewhere in your wiring you have a hot connector too near or touching a ground and that is where your problem is. It could be a staple that is too tight and has pierced the outer casing of the Romex and connects the hot conductor with the ground wire INSIDE the romex outer casing. Check any staples from the box all the way through to box one and then to box two. Use a pair of pliers to loosen all staples a little ( the wire should be able to slightly slide under the casing without catching. I am assuming that in the panel you have hooked the black wire to the breaker screw, the white wire and bare wire to their buss bars inside the panel. One of these will find the short that is causing your breaker to trip.
Q:how do i wire a 3 prong range (red, white, and i can't tell the other color it just has a block where all 3 wires meet and a washer type sticking out to screw to oven) and i want to wire it to a 4 prong 220v outlet right behind it. i got a 220v plug and 6-4 slow cord to use with 4 wires. red, black, white, green. which wire goes where? i have a good idea but double checking with u guys just to be safe. i was told nuetral wire is sometimes not needed?? plz help. any help +++++
red positive .black neg .green earth. not sure about white turn of from mains and check connection wires at back of plate it can be screwed out .that will let you be safe and sure.never seen white on any wiring system.always red black and green i have seen and wired my own oven with those three only/.
Q:What is the difference between observing field wires, winter and summer? why? What should you watch if you set up a wire in the summer?
Into the line do not know, may refer to the building of the weak line into the line room
Q:I have a crap signal coming downstairs from my wireless modem upstairs. I was looking at buying a better wireless modem when the guy redirected me to this thing that you plug into your electrical outlet, and then there's a receiver to plug into an outlet near the second computer. He claims that it sends a far better signal than wireless because it sends the signal through your houses electrical wires.Anyone have any experience with it? Is it good? Also what's it called because I'm having a heck of a time looking it up online lmao.
Ethernet over power line adapters They are better than wireless, when they work. You have to use the outlets directly, you cannot use power bars or extension cords with them. Some have issues when on different sides of the power lines (each half of the 240V). Just try different outlets if having issues.
Q:12V DC, 16A current to use the number of flat wire?
If the set-top box and the TV are both high-definition, you can also use high-definition multimedia interface line (H sub-powder dry and weed fist DMI line) to connect the TV and high-definition set-top box HDMI interface
Q:I Attempted to Wire an Outlet in my Garage and power it off an existing switch. The switch is one of 2 that controls a single light. There are 4 wires coming into the switch Red+ Black+ white + ground. What do I need to do, to have Power always ON to my outlet? Thank You
I am supposing the switch is a '3-way', or SPDT. In which case the other switch would be similar. Power goes to one of the two, but not the other. You will need to re-wire both switches. The switch that gets the power needs to send (unswitched) power to the other switch. A wire coming from the light will need to be connected to neutral.
