Q:I really need this to pass my permit test/: Ive tried taking this 5 times. .Pump the brakes constantly .Slam on the brakes multiple times .Let the automatic feature stop the car .Apply steady pressure to the pedal
The water is not completely drained from the piping. When you put the torch to it any water in the pipes migrates to the heated area and keeps the pipe from getting hot enough for the solder to melt. The water source of the water can be pretty far down the line and still do this. You have to completely drain the pipes again. That may even mean starting over.
Q:I‘m looking for the lever that is located in the brakes for the emergency brake system. I have the all the new cables, etc. Thanks, Cliff
I guess you recommend the actuating lever positioned contained in the drum brake. This section does not contain any kit i'm attentive to objective a junk backyard they're diverse aspect to aspect. Get the diameter of the drum.
Q:Find the difference in stopping distance for an average car going at reasonable speed on snow with an anti-lock brake system over the same car going without an ABS ???you can assume numbers to explain the question, and formulas.
THis is about the difference between static friction and sliding friction. Assume the car with ABS keeps the tires turning and the car without locks them up and skids. Since KE W FD, D will go as one over F THe Fs in the same ratio as the coefficients of friction, as g and the car's mass are constant
Q:I have to flush the Brake System on my car because the fluids dirty and I‘m sure it‘s got moisture in it. I‘ve been reading about the type of Brake Bleeding Kits that operate on vacuum, like the MityVac Kit. I am thinking on making my own Bleeder Kit and my question is. Do you think that the Tom Aquatics Aqua Lifter—Dosing Pump would work for this? It‘s a Dosing Pump for freshwater or marine, salt water. I used to have one and they are a very strong suction pump. They have a canister Filter that can be used to. Seems to me like it should work???
You could just get speed bleeders and keep the master filled till you get clear brake fluid coming out the bleeders. What maybe 5 dollars in parts. Keep the brake fluid out of the pump! the canister should help. A lot of pumps do not get along well with brake fluid.
Q:What does it look like when your car is leaking brake fluid? I have a rainbowish color under my car. It looks like a gas leak, but I don‘t think it can be, because it‘s from the front of the car. My brake light is not on, and I just got my brake lines fixed about six months ago, because they broke. If it is not brake fluid, do you know what this could be. The only way to describe it, is it‘s rainbow color and it looks beaded.
Hi, The brake system is under a ot of pressure. If there were a leak you would see it.Another thing you would feel a difference in the the brake peddle. If you are still troubled about a leak, take it back to people who replaced the lines and have them check it out for you. Good Luck.
Q:So I bought a 95 chevy blazer v6 4,2L and was told prior to buying it that the brake booster was out. Okay that‘s no problem I say Well after driving it and realizing that pushing that pedal was a task in itself, I need to be 100% percent sure it‘s the booster. I get a hiss when I apply any pressure to the pedal, breaks work(after wrestling down the pedal), and yes my engine bogs when I press it in idle. Hissing continues while brakes applied. So who out there can tell me yes, that‘s your issue? Thanks
My money is on the booster but try a check valve and also have someone push the brake pedal whily you listen underhood and dash for the hiss Salvage yard should have one for short money.
Q:If a auto repair shop performed a brake system diagnosis. What are they doing?
they check stuff like the condition of the rotors, make sure the calipers are working good and check the wear on the pads. if you have rear drum brakes they pull the drums and check the wheel cylinders for any leaks and condition of the hardware on the shoes and the shoes.
Q:I know that they can withstand much more heat than normal cast iron discs but if they can withstand more heat, won‘t that make the brakes fade easier? What‘s so good about it if it can withstand more heat?Is the never fading characteristic of carbon-ceramic brakes all because of the properties of that material?Do they have stronger stopping power or are they just popular because of that never fading characteristic? Also, What is the difference between carbon-ceramic and silicon carbide?
overheated brakes can make the brake fluid gets overheated, and when the fluid gets overheated(boiled) it will produce air bubbles in the braking system which will cause braking performance loss even total loss (personal experience), and most of the carbon ceramics brake systems uses DOT5/DOT5.1 brake fluids as it can withstand more heat (higher boiling points) as it can withstand more heat means it can withstand more friction which will produce better stopping power carbon ceramic is made of carbon and ceramic composites and silicon carbide made of silicon and carbon composites, and about the properties of each materials, I'm not sure which one is harder nor which one would stand the heat more
Q:It‘s got 8500 miles on it.When its moving , lets say when I push it I hear scratching I think it‘s the breaks because the sound is kinda similar to a sound a car makes when a brake job is needed.I tested the brakes they hold perfectly. Does this mean I need new brake pads? How can I troubleshoot this and know what it is that I need? Thanks in advance :)
I would bet you need a brake job right now. Look at and feel the rotor (round thing that the pads are against ) and if you have any groves in it . If you do , park it
Q:I found some good info online (at ehow) on maintenance on scooters/mopeds - how to clean carburetor, change oil, gear fluid, etc. but i‘m having trouble finding how to‘s on inspecting/cleaning/repairing/replacing brakes. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
Take it back to where you have it rebuilt and have them fix it.
