Superhero Dress up party,!! what to wear using normal household things!!?
I think you can use aluminum foil.
Before it was the oppositethe air would work but not the heatThen I took it in to get something done (I don't exactly remember because it was a while ago) and now the heat works but not the airWhen I turn the air on it just blows out regular air that is a little warmAlso, I noticed the air does work but I have to be very low on gas, so low the gas light it onWhy would this be?
I LOVE my Chi! It is the bestMakes your hair so straight and softMAke sure you use bio silk on your hair if you flat iron it! My chi was about $110 at JC Penney's but they have them on OKorder for about $70A seller on OKorder, esalon has great products!
Im working on a report where we have to build a boat out of aluminum foil that will hold an eggWhat are the physics of the floating boat to build a better boat? Any equations and/or calculations relating to buoyancy would be helpfulThank you!
basically the boat must be big enough so that it displaces the weight of it and the egg with water that is weigh the egg, calculate how much water that is by: weight egg in kg/1000 number of cubic meters the boat will displace all those calculations are fine but the boat shape will make things very hard, basically make sure the boat is deep enough to sink enough in the water to displace a bit over an egg's worth of water without willing with water itselfthe most important thing to do is to make the boat stable in water, that is, you want its center of mass to be below the water line so that it stays as upright as possible, to accomplish this a smaller but deeper boat would be best, although a larger boat would also accomplish the same thing by giving the water more torque to resist tipping these are just theoretical ideas, it is probably a bit overwhelming but in a case like this the physics become less important than common sense
My friends and I are making a little homemade music video next weekend, and I've been researching various elements that are important for making a good videoI'm a total n00b, but I know that the lighting can either make a video good or terribleWe're doing the majority of shooting outside, and I read that reflecting the light back onto the subject is the most effective way to improve the lightingThe same article I read this from said that white poster board can work as an alternative to a legit reflectorThere's a cheap, small light reflector for about $15 online, but with shipping it'd be over $20 and I don't think I'm willing to spend that much for one music video (I'm a broke high-school student)Would poster board work?
You can make a larger reflector by stretching a white bed sheet over a frameAlso, you can glue aluminum foil to a sheet of cardboard (might be less expensive than white poster board)Leave the dull side of the foil out and crumple it to diffuse the light moreYou can also look for natural diffusers, like a white wallHope this helps.
ok im in 7th grade and i'm doing a science project it's a very very simple one its which design of boats made out of aluminum foil hold the most penniesAnd i've done everything except the back round information and i have no idea what that should be onPlease don't tell me what back round information is just tell me what i should Research to find out what the back round information is.
Unless otherwise specified by your teacher, try looking for actual designs of boat hullsA detailed analysis comparing how your model hulls were similar or different would be nice too.

how is the electron configuration consistent with Na3As,AsCl3,AsF5?
1 type s orbital → max 2 electrons 3 type p orbitals → max 6 electrons 5 type d orbitals → max 10 electrons 7 type f orbitals → max 14 electrons 9 type g orbitals → max 18 electrons The octet rule refers to the tendency of atoms to prefer to have eight electrons in their valence shellWhen atoms have less than eight electrons, they tend to react and form more stable compoundsThe main exception to the rule is hydrogen, which is at its lowest energy when it has two electrons in its valence shellHelium (He) is similar in that it, too, only has room for two electrons in its only valence shellOther notable exceptions are aluminum and boron, which can function well with six valence electrons, and some atoms beyond group three on the periodic table that can have over 8 electrons, including sulfurThese atoms have empty d sublevel orbitals in which more electrons can existAs [Ar] 3d^10 4s^2 4p^3 Thus, in the ground state, Arsenic lacks 3 valence electrons (from 4p orbitals)As a result, for every As atom there should be 3 sodium atoms(Na)Na [Ne] 3s1 sodium will lose 1 valence electron (from 3s orbital) to become stableThus, there will be 3 valence electrons gained by As from Na (x3) to achieve a full octet configuration (i.e8 electrons in the valence shells)it's the same with AsCl3 the halogen atom, chlorine lacks one valence electron; Cl [Ne] 3s2 3p5 (1 valence electron missing in the 3p orbital) F 1s2 2s2 2p5 (1 valence electron missing in the 3p orbital) thus, Cl will gain one valence electron from arsenic to become stable(octet)AsF5 is an exceptionHere, As loses 5 of its valence electrons (4s2 and 4p3) to 5 chlorine atoms F 1s2 2s2 2p5 (1 valence electron missing in the 3p orbital, thus 5 x Cl 5 valence electrons needed) hope this helps:-)
please have a project due tommoroww!!! thanks 10 points
In qualitative analysis you need to know the ions/elements found in your substances1.First of all, solution B releases ammonia gas(c)which turns damp red litmus blue, has pungent, choking smell(B) contains nitrate ion-NO3(2-) BECAUSE Test for nitrate:warm with sodium hydroxide aluminium powder Result:ammonia gas produced The white powder probably contains lead(A) IS LEAD CARBONATE because it gives a colourless gas(E) HEAVIER than air which should be carbon dioxide The colourless solution(D) IS LEAD NITRATELead nitrate is used to test for iodide ions When mixed with an iodide containing solution it gives yellow ppt Solution D must contain either aluminium or zinc since both of these metals produce white ppt soluble in sodium hydroxide solution Assuming it is aluminium because of the powder, when aqueous ammonia is added it does not dissolve in it(insoluble in excess) E is CO2 F is AlOH A is PbCO3 G is NO3(2-) loses two electrons becomes NO3 Test for C (AMMONIA):PUT damp red litmus paper Result:the litmus turns blue
