Q:When i was young, my dad used to make us meatloaf from the Red 'Better Homes and Gardens recipe book... when my mom left, she took the book, so we don't have the recipe anymore.i am looking for the meat loaf recipe for using the microwave. I've found a copy of the baked version from BHG website, but it just isn't the same... the help would be VERY MUCH appreciated.(ingredients were eggs, milk, bread crumbs, onion, mustard, brown sugar and ketchup...)

Q:My teacher told us about this one quote where a friendship was like a garden. It needs a lot of little stuff for it to be strong and that after a storm if it was built good then it would overcome it. I forgot how it went, can you tell me..?
Friendship is a garden, A wonderful happy place. Where every friend`s a flower, Where love`s on every face. It`s a garden filled with memories Where people love to roam, Remembering with pleasure All the friends who call this home. The garden takes some tending, At least when friendships start Each flower has its special needs, The same as every heart. So if we treat each one we meet With kindness, love and care, This garden will grow beautifully Because our friends are there.
Q:My husband and I just bought our first home. We have been living in apartments for years and know nothing about gardening, etc.We pulled up a bunch of dead flowers, bushes, etc. around the house and now want to replant some. We know that we should plant perrenials, as I don't want to do this every year. I would like something that brings a little color to the garden. We have three different areas to plant them in. Two of the areas are not shaded, one is partially shaded.Any suggestions?
Please be more specific, need to know where you're living, the situation (I.e seaside, mountain, farmland, etc;).Also, the aspect of your land (Which compass point does it face),the type of soil,(Sandy, stony, rocky, loam or clay). Is the garden sheltered or exposed, all have a bearing on the most suitable plants. Suggest a DVD or a subscription to a gardening magazine before investing a lot of money in what may be unsuitable plants. Hope this helps, good luck with your new garden-it'll provide endless amusement! OK,Back again.Buy a cheap soil testing kit.Check if the soil's acid, alkaline or neutral. That'll give you an idea what type of plants will suit, any good nursery will advise and most plants are labelled. Container grown roses are a good bet if the soil's fairly good.Considering the temps;mentioned they'd need watering well, but can be bought in bloom for an instant show. There's a start for the sunny areas, consult a local nurseryman for the shady part.Ferns, hostas, lily of the valley and rock geraniums might suit, but take local advice.

Terrace garden flower choice is not many, but in the United States
Q:i have a vegetable garden in my back yard.which seems to be doing pretty good.until about a week ago i noticed that something is eating the leaves on my plants.the only thing that i see so far is there was this ladybug and a few japanese beetles.how do i stop them from eating my plants?is there a safe homemade pesticide i can make or even buy?
don't bother the ladybugs!.. they're your best friends out there!....
Q:I keep finding cat poo in my garden and I don't like it.
If you aren’t putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind. The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward.
Q:I have a kitten but I went out of town and my parents kept it at their house. When I got home I was swarmed with fleas. I have fogged my house three times and there seems to be less but they are still there. I don't what else to do besides hire a professional but I don't have the money to pay one. I also understand I need to spray outside but it continues to rain.
You need to treat the kitten with Frontline or what ever your vet recommends. Use a vet approve spot on treatment every month from now on. This will help resolve your current problem and prevent future infestations. You have to vacuum everyday for several weeks and fog again after a few days as needed. It can take several weeks to resolve a bad flea infestation. There are four stages of fleas in your carpet. Eggs, Larvae, Pupae, and Adult. The foggers only works on eggs, larvae and adult. The pupae is the hardest stage to kill. The fleas are in a protective cocoon and pesticide does not bother them. They will wait inside the cocoon for months until they sense vibration and heat which tells them a food source is near by (you). By vacuuming everyday you create vibration and heat in the room. This causes them to hatch out an be exposed to the pesticide residue left by your fogging. Instead of fogging you might consider just using a can of flea spray that you manually spray on the carpet. You can then target hard to get areas like under the bed or furniture that the fog might not get to. You can also avoid areas like your clothes and dishes that you might not want to get pesticide all over. Just be sure it is labeled as a flea spray that kills fleas and eggs.
Q:i just bought a new house in alberta. they just did the lawn, shrubs and planted a tree. now they are telling me i need to contact a person to come inspect it to make sure it was done properly before they give me my deposit for letting them garden my yard. i forget the proper name for the job tittle the surveyor has so i dont know who to call :'( please help.
umm, the best i can come up with is either: Home inspector OR Professional Landscaper Hope that helps! lol However i don't quite understand why they would give you your deposit for letting someone landscape your yard, i have really never heard of that...
Q:my parents bought a house and we will rebuild it but first we like to see new designs of house in and out. new designs of the most expensive houses you'll see and would want to live in but you cant because you cant afford it..houses like in florida or new jersey.those nice big huge houses they show in mtv cribs. celebirty houses
I get the Home and Garden magazine and almost all of the house, bedrooms, kitchens, etc... in the mag are VERY high end. Search their website and then go to MTV cribs online. When you see something you like I'm sure the designers name will be posted somewhere on the page. Look him or her up online because chances are they'll have some of there work in other homes posted. Print or save as you see what you like and compile a folder of the things you really like one room at a time. Then go back through it and find your favorites or combine a few ideas together for something unique.
