Q:I was looking at this truck and like it alot, its a 1985 Chevy 3/4 ton 6.2L Diesel, it does NOT have a turbo on it. The owner wants $1,500 for it. The only problem is that it'll start and run but it smokes on the left bank and has no power. I have no clue what is wrong with it? I was wondering if any of you guys knew what would be wrong with this truck? I also wanted to know if I was to buy this truck, would I just be putting more money into it than what its worth. In better terms, if I buy it for $1,500 will I end up paying $4,000 to fix it? The real reason on why I want to buy this truck is because I need like a tear up truck, go hunting in, fishing, etc. Would it be worth buying this? Does anybody know whats wrong with it? Also what are some good mods to put on it to make it faster and have more power?: the 6.2 is a very dependable motor, lots of low end torque and it will run forever. The usual problem with them is the injection pump. In your case I would look at compression on the left bank. If its smoking its getting fuel and not igniting it, and since its a diesel the most likely cause is no compression. I would replace the tired 6.2 with the 6.5 turbo engine. It will be an easy swap and will bolt right in as the 6.2 and 6.5 share the same block. I have done that conversion several times. Like I always tell my customers, if you want to go fast buy a gas motor, if you want to climb straight up a wall while pulling a trailer buy a diesel.

Q:I tried to have a check made out to my husband cashed today. He is depolyed and I have power of attorney. The bank said they are refusing my power of attorney and he would need to be present to cash the check. I advised them he is deployed and they still denied it. I need to cash this since we have no money at the present and it seems to me that power of attorney is the same as having him there. Any ideas on what to do or who to call. Im waiting for a JAG to call me back per the FRG.: The POA isn't exactly the same as him being there. And the bank, unfortunately for you right now, has the right not to accept a POA. If JAG issued the POA they may be able to contact the bank manager for you and let him know how they went about verifying the service member's identification for the POA and that may set the bank's concerns to rest. You also might offering to deposit the money in the bank until the check clears. It would mean waiting longer for the cash but it could be that the bank just doesn't want to cash a check that it feels might have a chance of being bad and then having to fight with your DH to get the money back. If they'll let you deposit the check with a hold on the money you'd have to wait for the cash but it would be on it's way which is better than the check sitting on your desk.

But you the memory of your past debt will be remembered and will require you to pay a deposit with the power company to receive service. This is not such a bad deal because they power company will pay you interest on your deposit at a higher rate than your could find with a certificate of deposit at a bank now a days. So be prepared to send in and extra $300 when you request service.

Can a Power of Attorney in the state of Maryland, spend, AT WILL, any monies they wish, according to their judgement, without having to give an account to the offspring of the deceased, where there is no will. Banks have a standard right of offset to take funds from one account to pay amounts owed under another account. If it's going to a bank other than Chase, it's safe.
