- Q: A. Identify only the primary source of electrical energy for the equipment or circuits in question.B. Enable backup energy sources, such as generators and batteriesC. Make sure all workers are safe and accounted for before equipment and circuits are unlocked and turned back onD. Avoid testing equipment and circuitry to ensure they are de-energized

- Q: I will go to American in next month and I need to get some pieces of equipment e.gcamera, digital vedio,so I need someone canlet me know how much walt use in u.s.a .Because we use 210 walt in Hong Kong.I need to bring the adaptor or not.Chelsia Leung
- You use 230 volts 50Hz in Singapore, not 210 watts U.S. uses 120 volts 60Hz. Many small appliances will operate on 110 to 240 volts, either 50hz or 60Hz. Check the plate on the back or check the manual. For these, you don't need any converter, just an adaptor for the actual plug. This probably includes your cameras. Those that do not, you will need a converter of some sort, which can get expensive, so check carefully.
- Q: I have heard, (I can't recall where), that the Earth's natural magnetic field is slowly declining. I have also heard that solar flares can disrupt the operation of electrical/electronic equipment. Would either of these natural phenomena affect the operation of electronic/electrical equipment? Please answer each query briefly, and provide links if possible.
- Electrical/Electronic equipment is only effected by something called Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI). The Earth Magnetic field usually does not create this kind of interference. The solar flares on the other hand can produce EMI. However, there are ways you can protect your electrical equipment from the EMI by shielding the equipment from the source of EMI. The thickness of the shield depends on the frequency of the EMI and the conductivity of the metal that is using as the shield. In general, a good conductor metal is the good shield such as Nickel, Silver, Copper, etc. Another way to protect a electrical component against the EMI is using a high permeability metal (hi-mu metal).

- In manufacturing, Missouri had a competitive advantage in greeting card publishing, automatic merchandising machines, lumber and wood products (i.e. sawmill products, hardwood floors, wood containers/pallets, and furniture), ammunition, paper products (i.e. paper bags, paper sanitary products, envelopes, and paper), and lastly in motor vehicles, which was substantially represented (i.e. motor vehicles, boats, motorcycles, aircraft, internal combustion engines, motors and generators, fans, and heating and cooling equipment). In the extractive industries, Missouri had a competitive advantage in lead mining, clay cricks, lime and stone quarrying, paving and asphalt products, and cement. In agriculture and food products, Missouri had a competitive advantage in agricultural production products (i.e. agricultural chemicals, grass seeds, prepared feeds, feed grains, hay, cattle, hogs, and oil crops) and in manufactured food products (i.e. pet foods, malt beverages, pasta products, poultry processing, pickles and sauces, roasted coffee, cheese and condensed milk, and cereals). - Q: If I decide to choose electrical engineering as my college major what would I be doing on a regular basis for my job?
- Shelly answered pretty well but there's sooooo many fields you can go into, ESPECIALLY if you get an education in Mechanical Engineering too. I'm going into Electrical Engineering at ECE Illinois, possibly the best school ever created. My (dream) career is working at the Department of Defense for the advancement of science and technology, hopefully more based towards making everyday life easier, alternative energy, and warfare. There are A LOT of careers you can get out of it, like shelly showed, but more. yeah, you just got excited didn't you?
- Q: Hey Guys !I just finished High school and I'm quite certain that Engineering is my first choice, however, I'm still a little bit hesitant. I'm choosing between electrical or mechanical! I think I like both majors and as far as I know Mechanical is the science of moving objects where you can get more hands-on experience , while electrical engineering is more imaginative. You can't really see electricity , thus it's more challenging ! To be honest , I like challenges but I don't want to end up regretting any decisions! Can anyone give me any insights , advices or opinions on both of majors ! What I'm going to study , what can I do , anything that could practically help me decide ! Thanks in advance
- Mechanical engineers have more opportunities.
- Q: give formulas and explanation both
- In general, mechanical efficiency is the ratio of the work input to the work output. There is always some frictional looses that require extra work input to overcome. Electrical efficiency is the ratio of power input to power output. There are always copper losses in any electrical equipment. These are basic differences and definitions. The basic formulas are efficiency output / input, using either work or watts. TexMav
- Q: As your career develops, what opportunities open up for the senior engineer with experience in Electrical or Electronics Engineering?
- Engineers have all doors open to them in both the technical and managerial aspect. With Electrical or Electronics Engineering, you can become a manager of any IT firm or any electricity company. All electrodomestic equipment require as well some sort of electric department which should be ran under an electrical engineer. Construction companies also use electrical engineers to map circuits in houses. Engineers are also suited for business administration and are even preferred over people who studied business management because of their technical knowledge and analytical thinking.
- Q: I am a mechanical engineer and i have had 4 different jobs and i'm forced to be an expert in electrical engineering, because everything is electrical/electronics/computerized these days. I am terrible with electrical concepts.i barely passed the only EE class i had to take, and i am trying to learn this stuff on my own, but it's like Greek to me. WHAT CAN I DO? This would be like forcing a lawyer to be an expert in bricklaying or forcing a doctor to be an expert in glass blowing!!!
- Gatorbait is right. A good manufacturer's rep. will be eager to help you learn about equipment operation is his field because good customer technical service leads to improved customer sales.
- Q: i have 1 electrical equipment .its data sheet showing .power details, 100VAC to 240 VAC 50-60Hz, 15watts, how can i calculate power consumption of this unit,i need formula also,
- You have the number, 15 watts. but that is a maximum, the actual power will be less than that. If you need the actual power, you cannot calculate it, you have to measure it. .
