I had the same situation occur when I got my scaffold/industrial done. I wouldn't be too concerned. The lumps are called hypertrophic scars, and supposedly they are pretty common and are caused by overcleaning, harsh products, or (as I think was my case) general irritation from the jewelry moving repeatedly back and forth through the piercing or being bumped around or rubbed/touched. Mine lasted quite a long time. Try leaving your piercing alone for a couple of days. Then salt water solutions or compresses are supposed to help the lumps to heal, and I also used tea tree oil and neosporine intermittently. Hot compresses like a heated washcloth applied to the area help to reduce the lumps, as well. Sometimes it's recommended to try another type of jewelry, like titanium, or switch temporarily to two separate bars. You might also try finding a really gentle cleanser/soap. I just kept my original piercing, using the above techniques off and on, and after months of the lumps remaining red and sore, they just went away totally. Just keep your eye out for any pussing (hypertrophic scars ooze, but they don't usually pus), increased swelling, and the area feeling very hot- these are signs of infectiona nd you should see your doc right away. Q:I got an industrial/scaffold piercing a few months ago and currently have captive bead rings in (The piercer put those in after he pierced it). The piercings are now healed enough for me to change the piercing, and I found an industrial bar on ebay which I'd really like to order. Only problem is, it has two choices on the gauge thickness and length, and I don't know which mine is.The gauge sizes available are 1.2mm (16g) or 1.6mm (14g) , and the length options are 32mm, 35mm, 38mm.Does anyone know which would be the best to get? as always,size does matter. the bigger,the better. go with the biggest size you can get. if they have it in extra huge,this is the size you want.

once you get it pierced do no longer stressful up bc its going to harm like 10 situations extra. stay comfortable and actual do now not sleep on it in view which you will awaken day after today with a swollen ear and in discomfort. sparkling it thrice an afternoon for 12 weeks. And basically a reminder cartilage piercings do take a together as to heal. Mine took a pair of 365 days in a a million/2 to absolutely heal. meaning the place i became into waiting to sleep on it and not harm.the place i became into waiting to pass it around without it getting contaminated minutes later. you may haven't any problem with it as long as you're looking after it =) And from a a million to 10 i say its between a 7 and eight once you get it pierced bc it does throb after.
