- Q: In my mind it was and still is one of the most dangerous matches in wrestling history in my mind what's your opinion on the scaffold match?
- The Scaffold Match should never have been done. Ever. Not just because of the danger of serious injury and death should something go wrong, but because the environment itself makes it impossible for the boys to DO anything. I occasionally have to use scaffolds at my job. They are rickety, wobbly structures I DON'T want to be on. We have certified, highly-trained professionals constructing them, so they aren't likely to fall or crumble, but the surface you stand on is small, very high off the ground (or floor), and each step you take causes the damn thing to wobble. I couldn't imagine attempting to wrestle anybody on top of the thing. I've seen many Scaffold Matches over the years and every one of them is the same. Two (or four) large men standing on a rickety, wobbly plank ten-fifteen feet above the ring. Each step they take causes the scaffold to sway and wobble and their arms shoot out to balance themselves. They can't wrestle, they can't push each other, they can't hardly even punch each other for fear they will lose their balance and fall off. The whole match is a dull and boring jockeying for position while the guys hang on for dear life. And the point of the match to determine a winner IS to push your opponent off the scaffold, which always means somebody falls down, grabs a hand-hold under the plank and gets his hands stomped on to cause the fall. Outside of the ghoulish spectacle of seeing a wrestler possibly get seriously injured there is no point to the match. Thankfully, outside of a couple of serious knee injuries (Jim Cornette being the most famous), nobody has had their career ended (or been killed) from doing this ridiculous match.

- I've passed out getting shots before! Almost to the point where I had a seizure. And I got mine done, and I thought I was going to pass out again! But my lady was really nice. It really doesn't feel like anything more than a lobe piercing, but you feel a bit of a pinch the second time it goes through. Nothing more! You'll be fine. - Mine really hurt, but I didn't scream. For the first few days I couldn't sleep on it, I noticed bubbles forming around the ends but, that's normal with piercings with cartilage. Make sure you go somewhere who uses the tube for the needle. When I went, since my ears were small, he used two different needles it lasted too long. But it wasn't worse than my tragus so, I was able to accept the pain.
- Q: Mine has passed the healing date and i have had another one put in it's been over 2 months since i had it done...but there is still some swelling on the top half of the ear that is pierced...will it go down eventually or is there something wrong with it?
- it will eventually go down. industrials can take up to a year to heal. don't worry about it.

- i have my tragus done and it didnt hurt at all, so i would reccomend doing the cartilage/tragus, but make sure, just like with any piercing, to keep it clean.

- Q: Hiya, I just had a scaffold piercing on the 14th of this month.. and everything was fine but in the last couple of days my ear has become a bit swollen and has broke out into spots. The actual piercing is fine, I found some dry blood on the end of the piercing but I dismissed that as nothing. - You shouldn't need to see the doctor. You may be having a reaction to the jewelry. Doctors are not very knowledgeable about piercings. In fact, most that I've met are quite biased against them. Swelling with a scaffold piercing is normal. Sometimes it takes a few days to take effect. Go to your piercer and let them take a look at it first. If you're wearing surgical steel you may need titanium. Also make sure you're only using sea salt soaks twice a day to keep it clean. No antiseptic cleaners, witch hazel, alcohol, peroxide, antibiotic ointment, most soaps, etc.
