- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a boat?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a boat. In fact, it is a popular and efficient way to generate electricity for various onboard systems, such as lighting, navigation, and charging batteries. Solar panels are lightweight, durable, and can be easily mounted on the deck or roof of a boat to harness solar energy and contribute to a more sustainable boating experience.
- Q: The first panel is located in New England, the second is placed in the Sahara desert, the third is on the Earth side of the moon, and the last is on the far side of the moon. Which panel would absorb the most sunlight over a year's time and why ? All the panels are place in optimal places where they would get the most light available.
- Well, as always, context is important. Sunlight is composed of a lot of different types and wavelengths of energy, and our atmosphere and magnetoshpere filter out a certain amount. If the question is actually which solar panel would produce the most energy (which I assume it is), we would have to look at how solar panels work. There are three different classes of solar panel function. Photovoltaic cells convert sunlight directly into electrical energy, but most systems are pretty low on efficiency. Solar cells can be used for generating heat, through boiling water or some other liquid frequently. And solar panels can be used to produce chemical reactions, breaking down solutions into ions, for example, and the breaking of the molecular bonds releases a certain amount of energy. So theoretically, the two sides of the moon get the same amount of solar energy, just at different times -- about 6 months of the year or so. If the solar panels were thermal energy panels, the ones on the Earth would do much better, because the moon is so much colder. The weather is the most convincing argument for comparing the Sahara and New England. New England is likely to be more cloudy and polluted than the Sahara. Since the Earth probably eclipses the moon a bit more often than the reverse, there may be a little more visible sunlight that gets to earthly solar panels, but the ones on the moon would get a greater proportion of the sunlight (more wavelengths, for example), so it would be close. The Earth eclipses only the near face of the moon, so that would give the far side of the moon a slight edge perhaps. I'd guess it would be the far-side lunar one, but too many variables to be sure.
- Q: What is the impact of roof orientation on solar panels' performance?
- The impact of roof orientation on solar panels' performance is significant. The orientation of the roof determines the amount of sunlight the panels receive throughout the day. Ideally, solar panels should be installed on a south-facing roof to maximize their exposure to sunlight. East and west-facing roofs can also work, but they may produce slightly less energy. North-facing roofs are generally not suitable for solar panel installation as they receive the least amount of sunlight. Overall, roof orientation plays a crucial role in determining the efficiency and effectiveness of solar panels.
- Q: i have a small solar panel, the ones from a garden lamp that turns on at night-i think.what i was wondering is can i just connect the solar panel to a capacitor and then a light just to test?or do i need something to convert the solar energy to usable energy?and how do i tell if a capacitor is broken?
- Most solar panels convert the energy collect from the sun directly into usable DC current. So no, you do not need a capacitor to test a light if you are in sunlight. You will need a capacitor or rechargeable battery if you plan on testing the solar panel away from a light source after the capacitor or battery has charged. Solar panels cannot store electricity.
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a greenhouse?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a greenhouse. Solar panels produce electricity by converting sunlight into energy, which can then be used to power various devices and systems, including heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilation in a greenhouse. This renewable energy source helps reduce reliance on traditional power sources and can provide a sustainable and cost-effective solution for powering a greenhouse.
- Q: Do solar panels require permits for installation?
- Yes, solar panels typically require permits for installation. The requirements may vary depending on the location and local regulations, but obtaining permits is generally necessary to ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and grid connection regulations.
- Q: so i told my dad to buy solar panels and he wants to see how much money u can save we pay $00 and i dont want quot; You don't need solar panelshow much would my fmaily save?
- I asked my dad to buy solar panels few years ago and after discovering the prices, i got WHY DO YOU NEED SOLAR PANELS Now i earn myself and hence bought these panels. Hope You don't get that. So do a thing. Go to nearby government office and ask for details for rebate on buying solar equipment and go accordingly. Do some extra work and earn money. In this way you will be light on your dad's pocket and even help in saving the planet.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on warehouses?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on warehouses. In fact, warehouses are ideal locations for solar panel installations due to their large roof spaces that can accommodate a significant number of panels. The ample sunlight exposure and lack of shading make warehouses a perfect fit for harnessing solar energy. Additionally, solar panels on warehouses can help reduce electricity costs and contribute to a greener, more sustainable energy source.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a school or educational institution?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a school or educational institution. In fact, many schools and educational institutions are increasingly adopting solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective solution for their power needs. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, parking lots, or open areas to generate clean electricity, reduce carbon emissions, and provide educational opportunities for students to learn about renewable energy.
- Q: does anybudy know about solar panels? plz reply me
- Solar panels, often connected to other panels to form an array will produce electricity when exposed to the sun. At this time solar panel is one of the fastest growing business in the world. Given the fact that most of our energy comes from fossil fuels (Oil, Natural Gas and Coal) and that those resources are getting used up and more expensive to get to, and given the fact that solar panels are getting cheaper and more efficient, eventually, the electricity produced by solar panels (or photovoltaic panels as they are sometime called, PV for short) will be cheaper than that of CO2 spewing electrical plants. Actually, it could be argued that if the coal, natural gas and oil industry was not subsidized so much by our governments, and if you demanded that the process of producing electricity from those sourced be as clean as PV, PV would be a cheaper source of electricity than fossil fuel already. Make sure to also look into the solar panels that produce hot water. SHW (Solar Hot Water) is very developed in country such as Israel, where the law demands that all new house be build with SHW systems. Those panels are very efficient at capturing the heat of the sun and produce hot water much cheaper over their life than using gas or electricity.
