1, no radioactive elements: natural stone material is a mineral, without high temperature sintering, it contains individual traces of radioactive elements, contact for a long time will be harmful to human body; Polishing brick will not cause harm to human body.

. 2, the basic can be controlled without off color: natural stone material, due to the time of rock, rock depth different color difference is bigger, polishing brick, pesto with batch of product design and color is consistent, basic without off color.

3, resistance to bending strength: natural stone material due to natural form, timber, weathering, etc is not the same time, lead to different degree of density, strength; Polishing brick by thousands of tons of hydraulic press pressing, then through above 1200 ℃ high temperature sintering, high strength.

. 4, thin, light weight brick: natural stone material due to the low strength, so the processing thickness is larger, bulkier, increase the load on the floors of the building, a potential threat, costs, and increase the transportation, the shop is stuck, etc.

The shortcoming of polished tile:

, 1, since it is polished, the problem also follows, because of the smooth, bright, so it is not resistant to dirty, with a mop after drag, will have water mark, because it is impossible for your mop is that 100% of the clean, like clean the Windows, so if you want to clean, just more work.

, 2, is polishing for smooth, so also will not prevent slippery, that is to say, once the ground water, is very smooth, which is why you see building general stair place such as shop inside Shi Cai without ChengLiang light, but is inferior smooth, only in this way can prevent slippery.

, 3, easy is colored liquid infiltration, * * * simple test is done with the pen words written on the surface of tiles, poor polishing, wipe immediately after you finish all can not clean, the handwriting might have infiltrated the, good brand, and because the press is good, high density, and firing temperature is high, the density is very high, so it is not easy, but it's not yes, it is a good polishing, if written words to wipe again ten minutes later, after must also leave traces of always wipe not to go, because the ink has infiltrated into the brick

Q:it sets fast, is there any gun, aparatus or equipment to easly apply epoxy tile grout.
1. Why epoxy?, it will take longer to apply, will be messy and won't give you the opportunity to allow it to go under bare spot of your tile. 2. I would take it back and get regular grout. 3. Sounds like your going for a good seal and the best way to do that is regular grout and a grout sealer. 4. If you still want to use it, tape around all tiles, wear rubber gloves (surgical tight fitting type) and have a bucket of water handy. Apply epoxy about half of what you need, wet finger and push into cracks, then add more and smooth with wet finger. The whole process should take about an hour for a 4x4 section when you can grout a whole room in a half hour with regular grout. One last thing to consider, if you ever crack a tile it will be next to impossible to replace just one without breaking others around it, but with regular grout it would be relatively easy.
Q:We are renovating our bathroom and I don‘t want to take out the existing vanity just update it, we were considering tiling the countertop, can we go right over the existing laminate or should we remove the whole counter top, or is it possible to just take off the laminate?
I tiled over the laminate in my kitchen by sanding the laminate with coarse sandpaper....priming with oil-based kilz-it and then tiled and grouted. It's still in the kitchen for over 7 years. You could also remove the countertop from the cabinet and replace with 1/2 plywood topped with 1/4 cement board but you would have to cut out the whole for the sink. Tiling over it is much easier. Just figure out your tile layout. I used 12 tiles for my custom countertop in my bathroom.
Q:Which colour of tiles do you think suit white kitchen cabinets??
Pretty much anything goes with white. Personally, for longevity, I would go with a soft sage green or gray-green tile or you might try the new glass tiles that have great shapes. Another great look would be a black and white pattern.
Q:hi i started a tile job yesterday. i was supposed to pull up the old linoleum tile and put new linoleum yile. the only problem was that the ols tile had been put over older tile without being pulled up. so i chipped away a little at a time and it just seemed like it took a long long time. i have blisters all over my right fingers and hand. i still have a big patch to finish tonight, and if anyone knows how to get this stuff up faster please let me know, thank you
I have used a long-handled ice scraper that was sharpened. It didn't necessarily make the job easier, but at least I could stand up! It also gives you better leverage. OH, and wear gloves to protect uour hands.
Q:The tile guy just wants to add fresh grout, but doesn‘t that wood need to be replaced too. Help the work is to be done in 2 days.
Is this tile in the shower? If so you need to pull up the tile and have a tile membrane installed on the floor to waterproof the area. If it is outside the shower the wood should be treated wood or it will bulge and crack the tile in the future. If it is treated wood then you can just lay replacement tile down. If they know what they are doing and have the appropriate help, then any tile job can be done in one day.
Q:What supplies would you need to install Ceramic Tile to a kitchen floor.
What okorder /
Q:We are looking to buy a house and we‘re choosing between tile and hardwood floor. I prefer hardwood because I feel its easier to clean and more comfortable. Husband prefers the tile. Is it just personal preference or is one better than another, cleaning wise.
Hardwood floors by all means. Especially if you live anywhere but the south or southwest. Wood floors have a bit of give to them so they are better for your feet and legs, particularly if you are on your feet alot. They make sense in an area where you want to make things cool as possible, but wood floors give a warm cozy feeling. In terms of long term value, hardwood floors add to the value of a house and often tile gives it a dated look.
Q:I was thinking of installing ceramic floor tiles for countertop in order to save money. I will use 1/16 joints with a dark tile and dark grout. The edges will be mahogoney or oak. I would think that floor tile would hold up better because it is thicker and more durable. Anybody have experience with installing this type on counters? tx in advance..
It will hold up, but don't buy a real shiny one with no texture at all. Because everything will show on it and they will eventually scratch. Also a good idea is the dark grout inbetween. Beware of placing mahogony or oak on the edge as it will warp and lose its color eventually from water, I would put a beautiful tile edging instead. Also try to make a design on the backsplash..It really looks georgeous, such as making the tiles diamond shape, and a straight tile border on top and bottom. Absolutely georgeous. My friend has that look and it is so lovely. My daughter in law has ceramic tile counter tops and they are georgeous. The back splash has a beautiful italian fountain design which my son did by himself by purchasing the special tile to place right by the sink. Good Luck on your project.
Q:80 by 80 tiles a box of 3 pieces equal to how many squares?
800 brick a box of 1.92 square meters, but you decorate some places can not be calculated by this, because the corner or irregular areas need to cut the tile, you'd better let the store to help you, they all know how to engage.
Q:about a year ago i had tile installed on my home but winter is here and i was wondering if i could get carpet installed over the tile without getting the tile damage
Actually, if you're talking about ceramic tile, you can't just lay carpet over it... unless you really like the look of seeing the grout indents from the tile that will eventually show through the carpeting. Sorry... I do know how you feel though because my entrance, my hallway, my kitchen and dining area as well as the powder room are all ceramic tile. I live where it gets down to -46 Celsius (with windchill factor). One day, I'll change everything but the kitchen for either hardwood or bamboo or cork, but for now, I solve the cold feet problem by using runners in the hallway, area rugs in the bathroom and kitchen and a sqaure rug in the dining area, under the seating and table (I have a round table). I have an entrance rug and rugs for all the ?(% boots! I also have a basket of home-made knitted slippers in various sizes. That way, even if a guest comes buy (in February, with soaking wet boots and only nylons on her feet), they can enjoy the warmth. There might be a way of putting down a veneer floor without nails, directly on top of your ceramic tile. It would have to be easy to remove. Perhaps using silicone, but you might want to ask that question here on answers, and get a specialist in that area to help. If you can do it without ruining your tile, then you could easily glue a carpet to the veneer floor. My final thought is this: If you're here on Yahoo answers in the decorating forum, you likely enjoy decorating. So take the throw rugs and and area rugs and have fun with it. Turn it into a decorating scheme. When Fall rolls around, pull out those rugs, match them to your decor and color scheme and turn them into part of the room. When Spring rolls around, roll up the rugs, sweep out the winter and turn your floors back into a soothing cool for tired feet. Hope this helps!
