Q:can solar power panels installed at home provide enough electricity to power house hold appliances?
Yes, but people usually balk at the cost. Right now, the photoelectric materials are rather expensive. So, most people figure it is not worth spending thousands of dollars and will gladly pay hundreds of dollars a month to the electric company. Most estimates are that it takes at least a year and a half to two years to recover the cost of the panels by how much one can save on their electric bill. Most persons would rather pay out that money in little increments to the electric company instead of all at once when having their home built. Just a side note of trivia: The ability of certain materials to turn photons of light into electric current or the photoelectric effect is what Einstein was awarded his Nobel Prize for, not Relativity.
Q:How energy-productive are solar panels, compared to natural gas?
Solar panels are not nearly as energy productive as natural gas. Case in point how many natural gas fired calculators do you have on your desk? or how many solar fired fireplaces do you know of? Solar panels are a great complement to natural gas/fossil fuel burning sources of fuel though. The more energy you consume from renewable sources of energy (i.e solar, wind, etc) the less you are consuming from non-renewable sources such as natural gas. Solar panel's rate of producing electricity depends on many different variables. Are the panels in direct sunlight? (with no trees or shrubs blocking the panels) There are panels out there made by Kyocera for example that are 85 watts, 65 watts, 50 watts. You should talk with a Professional about this. Look into Sun Electronics as I know that their website has a solar calculator and other helpful tools for interested parties. Good Luck
Q:Sankey Diagram for a Solar Panel?? HELP!!?
Q:Polycrystalline solar panels are good or single crystal solar energy is good
Pre-monocrystalline silicon solar cell photoelectric conversion efficiency of about 15%, the highest reached 24%, which is all types of solar cells in the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the highest, but the production cost is so large that it can not be a large number of extensive And commonly used.
Q:is it worth it to install solar panels?
The trouble is that it is so expensive to have installed and as you say it will take many years before you actually start saving above what the installation cost was, I personally would not go ahead and make that sort of investment, it would be more profitable to keep the money in a building society, get the interest from it and use that to pay for your electricity but the main thing that I have against solar Panels is that unless you stay in that house for at least twenty five years you will not reach the point where you are saving and to capitalise on it you would have to stay there for many years more, so you will not have the option of moving house without losing your investment and at the moment having solar panels does not increase the value of the property, it is just a good selling point, when you buy your new house, you would probably have to start all over again and then because of the years will never live long enough to reap any benefit from it.
Q:Solar panels in the Bay Area?
PV Solar panels all work the same. There aren't any climate specific ones. There is enough sun in San Francisco to produce energy using solar panels however, the the same panels located in a sunnier area will produce more energy. Depending on the size of your system, you will probably need a few more panels than an area that receives more sun to produce the same amount of energy. But they will still produce energy, even on overcast days. The solar installers will make all the calculations to determine what size system you will need to produce as much energy as you want. In California, you don't want to produce more than you consume in a 2 month period because currently, you are not able to sell your excess credits back to PGE after your 2 month cycle. Your system will cost more to produce the same amount of power than my system because I have less overcast days than you do. You will have to make the decision if the cost is worth your while. I expect my system to be totally paid for in around 8-9 years, working in the cost of inflation for electricity. After that, I will be paying nothing for electricty for as long as I stay in my house.
Q:How to make electricity from the sun without using solar panels?
you could use a water container with the sun focased on it and make it so that the water that gets heated goes out of a tube near the middle and the tube would lead to a turbine that generates electricity when water is forced through the tube( like an IV machine pump they use in hospitols only reversed so that it generates power instead of using power) then lead the tube back to the very top to release the water. PS basic principle behind idea is that water moves when heated and slows when cooled HARNESS THAT ENERGY
Q:Can you tie small-scale solar panel system into household electrical system?
Solar panel produces DC power that cannot be used directly by any electric device at house. Besides, it produces very little current unless its size is big as your roof. To convert DC power into AC power requires even more investment, like a huge storage rechargeable battery bank and very high power DC to AC converter . That is not worth to try it to supply whole house electricity with solar power . That might cost you at least U$20,000 to start with and never ended weekly maintenance. You could only try it just for fun to let it light up a few LED directly without the need to add any extra parts to it.
Q:Designing 3d Solar Panels?
Q:Solar panel trouble?
solar panels for those lights provide the power directly to the light, so there is no capacitor used or needed. in any event, capacitors very rarely break but you would need an OHM meter to test it.
