- Q: Just curious, when there is only a bit of toothpaste left, I have to squeeze little by little from bottom up. But then after using it, I'll have to do the same thing next time around. Obviously the toothpaste has to settle down the tube. Why and how does it do that?
- The plastic material has internal stresses that retain the shape it was cast in originally. Since it is attached to a round head it tends to form a sort of flattened cone. The toothpaste moves back up the tube to fill the available space as it is a type of really thick fluid. The shape may also lead to the toothpaste moving upwards due to capillary action (similar to how water moves up a very thin straw) To combat this effect, you can buy a little squeezy thing that rolls over the tube to prevent the toothpaste from moving backwards, or you can fold/bend it over as you use it like many people do. I store mine upright on the cap so the toothpaste settles at the end I squeeze it out of. The tube also uses less counter space when you store it upright as compared to laid over on its side.
- Q: How to connect the plastic pipe and the steel pipe joint?
- The plastic pipe is outside and the steel pipe is inside
- Q: Can you eat coloured icy poles in the plastic tubes with braces??
- you can eat almost anything just like having no braces on but, try stay away from like caramels and red skins etc. like sticky stuff
- Q: How do you seal plastic tubes?
- Plastic tubes can be sealed using various methods such as heat sealing, crimping, or using adhesive or tape. Heat sealing involves applying heat to melt the ends of the plastic tube together, creating a secure seal. Crimping involves using a crimping tool to compress the tube's end and create a tight closure. Adhesive or tape can also be used to seal the ends of plastic tubes, providing a temporary or semi-permanent seal depending on the strength of the adhesive or tape used.
- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for drainage systems?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be used for drainage systems. They are commonly used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications due to their durability, flexibility, and resistance to corrosion. Plastic tubes are also lightweight, easy to install, and cost-effective compared to other materials such as metal or concrete.
- Q: What are the different sizes of plastic tubes available?
- The sizes of plastic tubes available can vary widely depending on their purpose and application. They can range from small, narrow tubes used for cosmetic packaging or sample storage, to larger tubes used for industrial applications or fluid transportation. The specific sizes available may also differ based on the manufacturer or supplier.
- Q: I want to make some big lollipops for decorations for a party (like the link ones) and i'm planning to spray paint styrofoam and wrap it in colorful saran wrap. but i just need the big plastic lollipop stick, does anyone know where i can get some? Thanks a bunch! (: preferably cheap and links would be appreciated :D
- Those plastic tubes are actually called PVC pipe. Any hardware or lumber store sells it. Most will also cut it to order for you. It's not costly at all. Figure out how many and what length you need before going to the store, of course. Even though it is primarily white to start with, you may also need to buy opaque white spray paint to use on it; sometimes it has markings on it that don't come off. See what the shop clerks there recommend.
- Q: Im currently looking for some plastic non toxic tubing for drinking hats to drink from. I prefer it to be a store locally. I know there are available tubes online but I dont want to order it from the internet. Can anyone popup a very well known store that sells plastic tubing (good length)? Preferably close to Vegas...
- You don't want plastic, you keep replacing them and it's polluting, so buy STAINLESS STEEL. That's what my wish for Christmas. Plus they bend they make holes.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to acrylic tubes in terms of transparency?
- Acrylic tubes generally have better transparency compared to plastic tubes.
- Q: We currently use round bottom glass test tubes on our automation but suffer a large dead volume. We are looking to find a supplier of low dead volume glass/plastic test tubes to trial
- That's an unusual question. MANY years ago (50 or so) when we used to run a lot of pregnancy tests by utilizing Leopard Frogs, we used to use V-bottomed test tubes to spin down the sediment. Frankly, that's pretty much the only example I can remember where we used them. But I would think that they are still around. I would suggest you contact a laboratory supply house or two or three, and ask them. They are much more likely to be able to give you an answer than us geeks on the Yahoo medicine board. The stuff I used 50 years ago might not be around anymore.
