Q:Hi, i have a motorola razrlt;-- the first one that came out and i remember getting that phone for 40 bucks because i told them that i was a long customer and stuff, but it was supposed to be $150 for upgrade. Now, it's been two years since i had the razr phone and i want to upgrade a new phone, like the motorola rizr and the motorola krzr, i was wondering did anyone talk to any of the t-mobile staff to get the cheaper upgrade for either one of those phones??

Q:I am at a loss right now because i cant find the phone that fits me i love the blackberry tour but the no wifi thing really bothers me. i started to look at the windows mobile phones because of the fact of internet explorer mobile which in my opinion is a much easier to navigate browser than the black berry one and also the microsoft officebut the short battery life and the fact that most of them are touch screen turns me away from themm( i just dont do touch screen).I definately want a qwerty keyboardAny advice on a good phone???
Blackberries are great. They have great hardware, a decent appstore, and some of the best keyboards. Windows Mobile has a lot of choices of phones to choose from but the fact is windows mobile is not a very reliable OS. Its usuable but what I'm saying is I prefer the blackberry (although WM probably has better web browsing). Phones to choose: Blackberry- Curve 8900, Bold, Storm 2 (no QWERTY) WM- Jack, Epix, Blackjack 2 (All of these have INCREDIBLE battery life), then any HTC phone with WM.
Q:How does a mobile come to know that which operator is meant for it. What exactly happens and how a mobile phone attach to the network. How it is different if the mobile is in roaming area?
A cell phone network is made up of the cell phones themselves, base stations, and the mobile switching center (MSC) hardware which does call routing, etc. The base stations (cell towers) are always broadcasting out control signals that contain a System ID (SID) and how it expects cell phones to identify themselves. When you power up a cell phone, it hears this and registers with the nearest base station and your cell phone sends its Mobile ID Number. This Mobile ID Number is more than just your cell phone number, it also contains its own system ID (SID) number, and it also contains the ESN, Electronic Serial Number that identifies that specific phone. If the base station's SID and cell phone's SID match, then the phone is on its home network. If not, then you are roaming and connect to another provider's network, usually for additional charges. Your phone usually can hear multiple cell towers but connects to the one that has the best signal (signal to noise ratio). After your phone is registered, your cell phone number plus ESN are forwarded to the MSC, which sends this to a home location register or HLR. If it turns out you're not on your home provider's network, it goes to a VLR, Visiting Location Register. This way the cellular network always knows where you are, that is, which cell you're in (what cell tower) so calls can be router to/from your cell phone.
Q:If you have a t-mobile phone you know that your phone sometimes says other services than t-mobile under the service indicator. Because when your t-mobile service is down the netowrk works off of the other towers. Anyway, my t-mobile service is always two bars or less in my home area. I use to be able to work off of cellularone and att but now it says SOS. How do I make it not say SOS so I can work off of the stronger tower in my area? If I won't be able to make it stop, how can I boost my t-mobile service? Don't say get another phone cause I can't. I'm under two year contract. Thanks.
my son has ATT Go Phone and pays $20 for unlimited messages the phones to choose from are much better than Virgin.
Q:I mean children as small as 4th grade have personal mobiles for friends. Isn't it tooo much?
Obviously it's not NECESSARY; kids survived just fine before cell phones existed. However, I would think that a very simple phone with very limited capabilities would be a good thing for even a small child to have. A phone that would allow them to call mom/dad/911 would be a good thing; I'd CERTAINLY disable texting, picture messaging, and anything that would allow them to download things that cost money at that age.
Q:can a military officer use mobile phone during duty.or while in office??
Yes, not only can they but many do. My wife is a sergeant, she gets dozens of texts and phone calls on her mobile every day dealing with soldier and unit issues. Often her platoon leader and commander will simply send a text message to everyone in the unit if something comes up that needs to get done. It has become standard practice with many units in the army. The main thing to watch is dealing with sensitive information that could affect OPSEC.
Q:I just got a new mobile phone contract today and its my first one :)i got it of t-mobile and i was wondering if anyone knows how long it is until you can start using your texts and minutes of your contract?? like can you start using them straight away or do you have to wait a few days? cos i checked my balance on my phone and it said zero, but i'm not sure if that's just because it is the middle of the monthcan anybody tell me :D ha ha x
you should be able to use your texts and minutes immediately after getting your phone.
Q:i have internet connection on my nokia 5300 and i use it for connecting to internet on my computer too (via usb cable). will my mobile phone ever get a virus if there's a virus on my computer? if yes where can i find a suitable anti-virus for my nokia 5300?
it quite is totally plenty accessible to be contaminated from information that are placed there interior the computer and transferred a replica to the memory card once you inserted the cardboard to get or shop information from/interior the computer. yet do not issue you frequently can reinstall the OS of your cellular telephone. :) And there are virus removing courses are accessible for cellular telephones.
Q:I work in a small communications department (4 people, 1 of whom just resigned) and am wondering how best to approach my boss with the topic. Since we are at 75% working capacity at the moment it would be helpful if I had a mobile work phone to better stay in communication with the team and organization as a whole. Also important to mention I am the most junior level person in the department (also only member without work phone.) ~TIA
It helps to really examine first your motive upon asking your boss a mobile phone. Does your need actually stem from your professional need of a mobile phone where you can actually say that your job is flooding you with so many contacts than you could handle. If so, all it takes is for you to deliver a clear picture of your need and a little courage to approach your boss in a way that would not make them think that your request is personal. Make them know that you yourself are able to produce your own mobile phone and the basis of your request only deals with your 75% working capacity which you perceive to be something that you can still improve. Hope this helps!
