Every zone cooperate with 2 other essential parts: thermostat and power supply, In 90% of my carea, people firs go with their thinking to zone, but only 10% was realy zone. The first thing to check is termostat and power. you could do this very simply by removing termostat wire and tickling them together several times, if they have spark, than the most prabably is just thermostat broken

- well depends .. how far the piston was down and if the valve is still in the valve guide. intake you may have to pull the intake and feed it up from the intake port .. exhaust .. pull the manifold and feed it back up from the exhaust port.. and last .. pull the head .. if the the valve is still in the guide and the piston is not at the top .. you may could turn the engine slowly by hand to the top the piston may push up the valve up . you may be able to pull the valve up then..

- When talking about car engines, references such as v4, v6, v8, v10 and v12 are not for the number of valves. it is for the number of cylinders. The more cylinders that an engine has, the more fuel it consumes and most of the time, the more horsepower it can make. There are exceptions to this though. Regarding the noise of the engine, i would agree that a v8 sounds very good when it is roaring. Valves are actually the openings for fuel to get into the cylinders and the exhaust to come out from. Most modern engines have two valves for incoming fuel and two valves for the exhaust making a total of four valves per cylinder. hope that clears it for you
