Wireless work with radio waves. Costs vary widely, depending on the setup you go with. Decent wireless units start around $35-40, and go up from there. - Q:How do I wire this ceiling fan? There are two house wires coming from ceiling-one white, one black. There are three wires on the fan- one white, one solid black, and one black with a white stripe. There is one light switch in the room that will be operating the fan/light (the fan has a light on it). I wired the white wire to the white wire, the black wire with the white stripe to the black wire, didn't know where to wire the solid black wire to. Now only the light part of the fan works, the fan does not work at all. Where does the solid black wire go? I need both the fan and the light to work.
- The solid black wire on the fan is power to the fan motor. The black wire with the white stripe is power to the fan light. I assume that your fan has two pull chains. One turns the light on and off, the other turns fan motor on, and repeated pulls selects speed. You have three choices; 1.You can connect the black wire from the ceiling, the black wire from the fan and the black/white wire from the fan all together using an electrical wire nut. Now when you turn on the wall switch, both the light and fan have power and you can control them by pulling the chains. When you turn off the wall switch, you will not have light or fan. 2. You can wire as in 1 above and also connect the two wires which currently go to the wall switch. This will supply power continuously to the fan/light. You will operate the fan/lite entirely by the pull chains on the fan. The wall switch will now be inoperative. 3. You can buy a remote control fan unit at Lowes or Home Depot for around $30. This unit consists of two pieces, one goes into the fan, the other replaces your current wall switch. The wall mounted unit has buttons to turn on the fan light as well as to select the fan speed. It works by radio control similar to a garage door opener. This unit will not work with a hugger type fan mount.

- Well a capacitor is always desired for me...even if not to help the amp...it also helps your alternator/battery. Most class D amps can handle 2 ohm mono...actually most of them can handle 1 ohm mono...as for wiring. It depends on how many amps your amplifier's fuses are. If your amp is drawing more than 50 amps I'd say 6G or thicker. less than 50amps then 8G is plenty. The wattage the amp says it puts out is misleading...the fuses on the side of the amp tell the whole story. 12g speaker wire should take care of you as well. If the amp were on the larger side (requiring 6G wire or thicker) then 8G speaker wire would be a good idea.

- Most if not all wireless routers also work wired! Nearly all of them have at least four wired ports. The access point is the wireless connector, it just connects wireless capable machines to the exact same point within the router as the wired plugs do. A Wired router does not have the internal access point. With a wired router you can add wireless ability by simply adding an access point to them. The AP (access points) cost about as much as a full wireless router so you don't see them used very often but they are available. All the wireless does is eliminate the need for a local cable. Really that's all it does. Any computer connected to a router is connected to the router, wired or wireless makes no difference, although as a general statement the wired machines will be faster! So yes wired and wireless routers do exactly the same thing, they route local traffic for several machines to one broadband connection.
