Q:Can I just use a black pad on my buffer to remove old crappy wax on floors, or do you HAVE to use a stripping solution...in other words, can you use the black pad on a dry floor?? Thanks!
use the stripping chemical. It breaks down the wax. put the solution down and let it work and use your black pad. make sure you rinse the floor very well.

For best temperature yeah a hardwood floor.It can be a great or better in warming up to make the room temperature cozy.

Do you really want to finish damaged laminate flooring? Besides, that type of flooring is not intended for outdoor use. I would just rip it out and install flooring that is more environmentally rugged. Cork and rubber are two options you might explore.
Q:I have a newly constructed basement (less than a year) which is being used for wine storage. Its too humid. I am adding ventilation and have treated the floor with a moisture barrier. Now I want to paint the floor.
Firstly, a question - what do you mean by vapor barrier - if you mean a concrete sealer, I think you will need to remove that first. I have successfully used polyurethane floor paint available in a variety of colors from True Value Hardware Stores. Good luck!

gbhofgh, I strongly recommend using basement tiles to do the job, they are a bit more water resistant and can absorb as they say a good shock. Heres what you do, visit the site Im giving you below and then post another question on the ionstallation methods, dont forget to ask your mum about it.

Floor 1 is also sometimes called the Ground Floor. (The floor above is 2 and so on.) On many elevators they use G instead of a 1. Below the Ground Floor is the Basement. If there is more than one level below ground, they'll be called a different name which ordinarily describes their function, such as Storage Room, Boiler Room, Utility Room, Morgue, Laundry Room, etc. Mathematically, a Negative describes what does not exist. Apply this concept to a building and it's pretty bizarre. -1 Floor would be the floor which does not exist below the Ground Floor. -2 Floor would be the floor that doesn't exist two stories below the ground floor. Working on this logic, all buildings which do not use the basement-naming method, would have an infinite number of negative floors beneath them, that is, if the floors continued through the Earth's core and on out into space. Therefore, the use of Floor Zero is nominal, and could never be a mathematical construct, any more than the wor Ground Level can be a mathematical construct. My building (US) calls the street level floor Ground Level only, and it's never called the First Floor. The 1st Floor is therefore 2 stories above the street, and so on. If it were possible to think of the Basement as -1 Floor, which of course you can't because to think of it in this way would automatically cause it to not exist, but IF.......In the case of my building, the Basement (-1 Floor) actually IS 2 floors distant from the First Floor. MANY buildings within old cities have this naming style. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... question and fun!
Q:Hi im trying to renovate my bathroom ,but im trying not to put that 1/4 inch cement floor to put the tile on cause its going to be biger than the living room floor is there anything else i can use that can be smaller than 1/4 inch floor board.i know theres like a thin membrain like paper or something ...please help
You can use regular plywood as a sub-floor and it is cheaper.
