- Q: I have a very old computer tower without the fat monitor. (which i through away years ago) I have some pictures on it that i would like to extract, but i don't know how to. And i lost the power cable to the tower. I would appreciate if you could help me. Thanks
- Any power cable from any computer or normal monitor will work. Boot the computer, copy the files to a flash drive or external hard drive, and then plug the new one back in and copy the files from the drive. If it's REALLY old (doesn't even have USB ports), then the easiest way may be to open the tower, remove the hard drive, and plug it in with an IDE to USB adapter (you can buy one online, or see if a computer shop has one). Make sure you find one with a power source.

- its a transformer to cut the mains plug voltage down to the same voltage as the battery which will be around 16volts to 20 volts for a laptop,the desktop PC will have the same transformer built into the tower casing beside the fan,but you just cannot see it, and there will be a voltage selector switch for the country you are using it in ie-UK =220-240volts, USA=110 volts or similar,both the laptops and desktops use the same internal operating low voltages,and mains voltage would fry everything inside ,that's why they are fitted with the transformers.

- if you have a computer that is made to run on lower voltage and you use a different power cord or adaptor to run a higher voltage you going to blow it up. Call the computer manufacturer and see if it is compatible to higher voltage first.

- It wont hurt anything.. You can always go larger, but the 7 ga will be hard to work with and attach to smaller wires...Unless you are using a very small guage 26 or something, it wont make any difference in your reception... Replacing the antenna, adding an antenna tuner, remounting the antenna to a different location, phasing two cb antennas and tuning to the exact frequency or channel you use most of the time will improve the reception and transmission.. You need a SWR meter to do this...
