- It is possible to modify the file system on your Razr via USB, but you'll need some proprietary Motorola software to do it. Your better bet is to use Bluetooth. Most versions of the Razr support bluetooth file exchange. Via that protocol you can add and remove images and sound, saving a bunch of money on ringtones.

- I have seen Windows configured (from the vendor) to ignore an icmp request (ping). I have also seen a cable give link lights and still not allow a connection. Get the two laptops setup to use the same workgroup and then see if you can locate each other via Windows networking. ( I am sorry I can't give more precise instructions but I am a linux guy). The cross over cable is the correct choice for what you want to do though. I hope this helps!

When u want to connect any cell phone to laptop/computer u just can not use any data or usb cable, u get connected only through the USB cable which comes along with cell phone ( or u need to buy it seperatly but every phone model has its own USB cable, so u just cant not connect with any other cell phone model USB cable. 2. - No, when you use the data transfer cable, it moves the data from one device to another, and can only transfer data from a smaller device to one of equal storage or higher storage compasity (Ex. 20GB-20GB, 20GB-60GB, 20GB-120GB, etc.). If you want to copy the data, you can either use a USB flash drive or use your computer to transfer the data. I used the USB flash drive to transfer my data from my 20GB HDD to my 60GB HDD and it took a few hours. Hope this helped.
- Q: Hi,I am really angry. I was foolish and have bought a ?5 data cable for my X640. I follow the instructions to the end and it says it installs. Afterwards, it says the software requires you to restart your computer for it to work. I do this and when i open up Device Manager, there is a little yellow exclamation mark next to COM 8! I open up properties and it says 'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)'I cant see how this works. It said it was installed and it used the drivers that came with the cable! I carry on and install EasyStudio PIMS File Manager and i select COM 8 and it does not work. The i chose every number port and number sequence. It STILL stays offline. I am really losing myself here! Can anyone please enlighten my and tell me why this is happening. I have tried every port and uninstalled and reinstalled and the same thing happpens :-(Please help,Tom.
