Q:What do you fill a hole in the wall with cement or with putty? And does cement come already mixed?
Is the wall interior or exterior? What's it made of? How big is the hole? How deep is the hole? All these make a difference.
Q:builders have messed it up..i live somewhere hot..2 attempts of cement laying and then a green paint over it which i've had to scrape off...the paint still keeps coming off tho when mopped...can you suggest please some sort of sealant i can get bought in england and sent over to me?just to make it look better and 'seal' in the colour..cheers :)
Gray cement sealant paint or epoxy the entire floor. Epoxy comes in different colors and is rather appealing to the eye if properly applied. Then you can add sparkles to the epoxy paint or other decorative stuff. Go to the larger hardware stores and shop for epoxies and their additives.
Q:The different meaning of Cement Clinker and Clinker?
Clinker is ground (usually with the addition of a little calcium sulfate) to become Portland cement. It may also to be interground with other active ingredients to produce: blastfurnace slag cement pozzolanic cement silica fume cement Clinker, if stored in dry conditions, can be kept for several months without appreciable loss of quality. Because of this, and because it can easily be handled by ordinary mineral handling equipment, clinker is traded internationally in large quantities. The freight cost is much lower than that for the equivalent amount of finished cement. Cement manufacturers purchasing clinker grind it as an addition to their own clinker at their cement plants. Manufacturers also ship clinker to grinding plants in areas where cement-making raw materials are not available. Happy Holidays !
Q:And no, I'm not talking about rubber cement. I need to glue a multitude of hard rubberized toy dinosaurs to various urban materials, mainly concrete or cement. What would be the best glue to use with the strongest and longest lasting bond? Epoxy? And if so, what kind of epoxy?
i suggest a combination of gorilla glue and some kind of instant crazy glue. the gorilla glue is extremely strong, but not quick acting, while the instant crazy glue would hold it in place for a couple of hours of so while the gorilla glue dries. do not mix them together, just use in different places. also use small amounts of the gorilla glue because it tends to expand and ooze out when drying.
Q:So......I'm a little over my head here. Started taking down wallpaper and wouldn't you know it, there was layer, upon layer and then I accidentially started taking up the backing and came to cement. Have done what I could to salvage what I did, but have decided I'm going to use textured wallpaper over the existing. Do you think it'd be alright to paper right over and on the cement?
concrete or cement is a porous surface and will not let the glue stick for the long haul. you need to paint the surface with a sealer before you began. a good sealer to use is dryloc. you can pick it up in any paint store or hardware store.
Q:I really need to have the maximum amount of information between these two main types of cement. Also, please give some examples of non - hydraulic and hydraulic cement.Thank you!
Non Hydraulic Cement
Q:I like for my students to use rubber cement in the classroom. The school distict made us quit using it since it is toxic. I read somewhere that there is a new product that is like rubber cement, just nontoxic.
Anything regional. Champagne, Stilton cheese, Melton Mowbray Pork Pies.
Q:On the gas tank of my motorcycles is edged rubber and edged thin steel. The edged rubber slides into the edge of the steel. Some of the rubber has come off the edge of the steel, and I was wondering how could I glue it. I thought of rubber cement, but I don't know. Also should I prime the steel by taking some light sandpaper to it? Thanks.
For that application I recommend using contact cement. With a pencil, trace around the pad locations onto the gas tank. Apply contact cement carefully, within the lines on the gas tank. If the tank has been painted, lightly sand it (within the area to be glued) to make the area dull so it will accept the cement more readily. When this has been done, and the correct amount of time has passed, carefully position the pads on to the tank.
Q:I was told I could use rubber cement in place of liquid masking film (Frisket) for masking off areas in my watercolors. Is it gentle enough that it won't rip the watercolor paper when removed?
Liquid Frisket
Q:We started to sand our living room ceiling to get rid of a the texture. When we started sanding, the texture began to chip away. After the texture there is still another layer that became exposed and is is the color grey and is very hard. I have seen drywall and this does not appear to be anything like that. Could it be a cement board? Any suggestions as to how to fix it? Should i do ceiling tiles and leave it? Thanks!!
That sounds like plaster. Plaster is put on in several layers of different substances. Some can be gray. It can not be cement board, that is way too difficult to work with to put into a living room. It is only used in a bathtub/shower or laundry area. If it not cracked, I would not put in ceiling tiles because I think they look cheesy. You can sand it smooth and paint it or put on new texture. Why did you take the texture off? Was it only because it was chipping off. I have seen paint chip off of plaster after a lot of years. I have also seen some of the various layers of the plaster chip off or even disentegrate. That usually happens after damage over a long period of time. I had a layer of drywall installed over the ceiling on one house for cosmetic purposes. Actually, when I say over, it really was physically under the original ceiling, but we use the term over to denote the fact that there was somthing there already.
