Q: I am working on case modding my wii and I want to cut a stenciled design out of the plastic on the side. Is there a certain tool that can do this eficiently? im not sure a dremel would work with such an intricuite design (sorry for spelling) so which tool should i use?
Anthony, I would use a spray glue (sold in the glue section of most stores) and spray the adhesive to the stencil and then apply to the plastic. It's simple to do, just follow directions on the can. Then if you have access to a scrollsaw, you can use a fine blade and cut the design with little trouble, no matter how intricate the design. Of course if you're unable to lay the area onto the flat surface of the scrollsaw, this won't be an option. If you use a dremel, it will be very difficult to follow the lines, plus it will leave a melted area along the cut lines. you could try using a plastic cutting knife, but if the detail is intricate, you won't have very good control. If the plastic is thick, it probably won't cut through the material. You may be able to use a coping saw, if the throat on the saw will clear the side of the plastic so you can cut it. You'd have to drill a starting point for the blade to enter. If the throat is not wide enough on the saw, try removing the blade from the saw and use it without the saw. The blade is very fine and should cut the material, including the intricate areas. That's about they only reliable ideas I can muster. Perhaps someone else has some ideas. good luck
Q: I must be having a brain fart! I can't remember why I bought six rolls of duck tape and heavy gauge plastic sheeting. I remember that it had something to do with the Y2K scare but what the hell? Can someone refresh my memory, please?
Water collector?
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for insulation in vehicles?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for insulation in vehicles. They can provide a layer of thermal insulation to help regulate temperature and reduce heat transfer, improving the overall comfort and energy efficiency of the vehicle. Additionally, plastic sheets can also offer sound insulation, reducing noise from outside sources.
Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to tearing?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to tearing due to their durable and flexible nature.
Q: I would appreciate anyones help on this.I have to have a custom high-detailed graphic printed onto a sheet of plastic measuring 25 and 3/4 by 27. I'm assuming I will need a specialist service, but I'm not really too sure where to start, or how much this will cost me. This will be a custom made banner for an arcade machine, if anyone's interested. Can anyone direct me towards services, or even give me an idea of prices? I live in Essex, UK, if anyone can find somewhere local, I would greatly appreciate it!Thanks guys!-Kirsty

Q: I have an idea for something I would like to make and sell. I would like to be able to stamp or cut a fairly simple shape out of flexible plastic sheets, a bit like margarine tub plastic. What machine/device/tool would I need to be able to cut or stamp this shape (and yes, I know scissors would work, but I would like to be able to make quite a few)

Q: can a flexible plastics sheet have a eye prescription added or incorporated like eyeglasses?
It's not like I'm an optician, but I don't believe so, no. Eyeglass lenses are lenses - they are ground to a certain shape and polished. Flat plastic is what sunglasses are made from - not truly lenses.
Q: after buying the motor home i found out that water from the water source in the rv park had been standing under the trailer for a long time. i was planning to move the home so thought this would be resolved but now do not know that i should move or keep this due to what looks like mold on the surface of the black plastic sheeting containing the insulation under the trailer. also, it s there a problem if water gets into the insulation? this is my first experience with a mobile home do not know who to ask. mobile home dealers have not been able to answer my question. please help.
I can't see why mold on the exterior of the plastic sheeting should be a problem unless there's an enormous amount of it, if it's there because the underneath of the home didn't get enough ventilation. It could be cleaned off, and shouldn't recur if the next place you put it is dry. If water has gotten into the insulation above the plastic, that would worry me. Wet insulation doesn't work, and if the insulation is wet, there might be other water damage in other parts of the home which could be serious, since the water in the insulation most likely flowed down from somewhere. Is the plastic in good shape with minimal tears in it? If there are any tears, look at the insulation through them to see if you can see any evidence of it having been wet. Have a good look with a strong light under there, and you might be able to answer your own question. Also, though the dealers might not be of much help, there is probably someone in the neighbourhood who does repairs on mobiles, and it might be worth getting them to give an opinion.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for DIY birdhouses?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for DIY birdhouses. However, it is important to ensure that the plastic used is safe for birds and does not contain any harmful chemicals. Additionally, plastic birdhouses may not provide the same insulation and natural feel as wooden ones, so it is recommended to consider other materials for a more suitable and bird-friendly habitat.
Q: I had a pilonidal cyst removed from my natal cleft (aka butt crack) last Tuesday, and to reduce the risk of infection, the surgeon used surgical glue to close the wound's exterior, and a sheet of super-sticky surgical plastic to keep my cheeks together and provide another layer of protection from infection.Well, it started peeling up a bit at the top and bottom and letting some air get to the would, so I peeled off a little bit and trimmed it off (with help, lol). I went as far as I dared to, but I just hit a part where it hurt. I'm concerned about infection getting to the spots where air had already made it in, but I also don't want to open the wound.I don't have an appointment with my surgeon until Thursday- do you think it would be okay to wait for him to remove it, or should I just use some Vaseline to take the rest of it off now?
Put some antibiotic ointment on it (neosporin etc). That will not only kill any bacteria that might be trying to get into the wound, but it will also loosen the stickiness of the tape, so that it comes off easily on its own without further injury. Put the ointment, then leave it alone until the doc sees it.
