At 720p, I see no difference in picture quality using component or HDMI cable. In fact, with HDMI, many of the picture adjustment controls are locked out in favor of what the cable dictates. Weird. I don't think you'll notice a difference except that I recall owning an upconverting DVD player that would not upconvert if you used component cables something to do with copy protection. Could this be the case with a BD player? Doubt it. If you have a blu-ray movie to test with and the same movie on DVD (like Madagascar or something) then you can see first hand if there's a big difference between them. If there is, then you know you are getting HD through component cables. Or maybe the manual will say so too. Phew. IN ANY CASE, if you wanted to try it out, most cheapie HDMI cables from Hong Kong on OKorder will do the trick quite well, for a total cost of about $6.

Q:I own a pair of Beats Mixr, and the original cable with control talk is already giving me trouble. So I went on OKorder and saw a replacement cable, but it's not authentic like the one that originally came with the headphones. I don't know about cables, but do you still have your warranty with Monster? You can do that, or of you wanna save money and get some nice fake beats(: It's totally worth getting Fake beats! And they sound almost IDENTICAL just the fake ones have more bass and but lil less clear but like 5% less you won't tell a difference. Q:I have a 1080P TV (Westinghouse), Sony Receiver (1080P), and a Sony upscaling DVD (1080P). I bought two cables to close the triangle (HDMI from the DVD to the Receiver, and another from the Receiver to the TV). I watched a movie perfectly on Sunday. Today I begin to watch another movie and I turn on the DVD and Receiver. To my surprise, I have to picture. I can hear through the surround sound just fine but no picture. I switched cables around, changed settings, and called Sony Tech. Nothing worked! Their response was that my cables are bad because I can use the regular cables and get picture. Now is this possible for HDMI cables (brand new) stop working. Honestly, two HDMI cables is a little over $100 bucks and they go bad after 1 week. Help!!!!

You should check to see what version HDMI cables you have 1.3 should be available soon but get 1.2. Yes it is possible due to there not being a good quality control on the cables being made until this latest version (1.3). Also try to run the cables straight to the tv and not the receiver. Receivers can sometimes cause communication problems and devices to lose there handshake with devices over hdmi.

Q:I was recently driving my taurus and noted that the kickdown wasn't working properly, upon inspection I noticed that I have the two cables hooked to the throttle body. One that goes to the pedal and the other (kickdown) goes to some kind of control box under the master brake cylinder. I notice it has a very large connector with several wires in it, WHAT IS THIS BOX!!! I can't find any info on.

The second cable and the box is the cruise control. Your transmission is computer controlled. If the transmission is not shifting correctly its a internal transmission problem which would usually set a code and check engine light or its something else in the system giving the computer bad info so the computer is not shifting it correctly. Could be something like a temp sensor not giving an accurate reading.

Is the cruise control servo cable connected to a cruise control transducer? If so then the wiring should already be in place. To pull out your old switch, push it up, as if signaling a right turn, then pull it straight out. The cruise control wire should be a small 3 or 4 wire flat cable with a small blade connector.
