- Q:we had our bathroom redone, it looks great but the guy that did it got some grout on one of the decorative tiles, where it shouldn‘t be. Is there a way to get the grout off ?
- First if your unhappy the tile man should be called to do this. But if you feel you can do it yourself there are a couple ways to do it. If it happens to be a raised or relief style deco use a pc of wood. A small dowel sharpened to a dull point can be used to gently dig out the grout. If its a flat deco tile, scrape off excess with a flat pc of wood or plastic. Never use metal since it can leave a permanent mark on tiles. Fine hazes you can start with a dry rag and work up to a white nylon pad scrub with. When doing a rag or nylon pad do this dry, no water. Water helps reintroduce the grout to the tile. - Q:I have installed tile around my shower and and ready to fill in the gaps between the tile. Grouting looks messy and I don‘t know how to do it. Is there a grout that comes in a tube that can be put into a caulk gun? Can I just caulk the whole thing? This one is new to me so any help is appreciated!!!

Caulk is used between the bottom of the tile and the top of the tub because it's flexible and moves when the tub is filled. A solid hard grout line would break.

- Seal the travertine after it's on the wall but before you grout. That will help keep the grout from sticking to the tile.
- Q:I would like to hand paint ceramic tiles then cement it on a out door bench. But I have no idea what I need, what to do, and where to get the materials.
- Bilbo has a good answer. Or just go to a store, like Home Depot, and purchase the inexpesive tiles. Any craft store will have the creramic paints you need. Some need to baked in your oven, and some don't.
- Q:My wall tiles has been for more than 20yrs owned by first owner. Due to limited budget,i have not replaced them when i bought over as 2nd owner, but have done a coat of spray paint on it thru contractor, Now after 5 yrs, some of these spray paint are coming off, any suggestion what i can do , i do not want to hack the wall and replace new wall tiles very costly, someone suggest buying bathroom tiles stickers on those tiles with paint coming off.. anyone with better suggestion on DIY ..plse help---

- Q:Well I grouted my glass tile backsplash today and let it dry, now it is ready to be cleaned off, but i am completely exhausted! can i clean it off tomorrow or will it be too late? grout container said to let it dry for 4 hrs before cleaning off with a dry cloth. yeah right, a dry cloth does not do the trick. only a damp linen cloth used to scrub each individual little tile gets the haze and bits of left over grout off and that is going to literally take me all night. so can i do that tomorrow or do i need to pull an all nighter???
- no longer something is needed, in basic terms use a moist sponge and rinse frequently. once you have wiped each and all the surplus grout off the tiles, enable them to dry over night, then wipe down the tile with a delicate fabric (tub Towel) this would take off the haze on the tile. Then all this is left is to seal the grout.
