Q: I thought hair metal was just the way you looked, with the big hair that looked like it could serve as a woman's hairdo. But guess theres more to it than that? So what is the difference between hair metal and just straight metal?: It's too artificial, none of the musicians possess a great amount of talent nor are they very skilled; the guitar riffs are generic palm muted strum riffs. DJs and beatboxes also do not belong in metal, rapping ESPECIALLY should not be a factor of metal. Not to mention it is WAY overproduced at times. It's basically kid music, like some 10 year old will hear a Linkin Park song on Transformers and think it's hardcore when they don't realize they're listening to the lowest form of talent.
