Usage of ferro silicon
Ferro silicon is widely used in the steel making,iron casting ,low-carbon ferroalloy producing:
1 In the steel making field,Ferro silicon is used as deoxidizer and alloying agent to precipit and diffusedeoxidation.Adding a certain amount silicon of fe-si to the steel can obviously improve the strength ,hardness ,elasticity and permeability of steel.
2 In the iron casting,it is used as ball mile agent and alloying agent especially in the nodular iron casting, Adding ferrosilicon to cast iron ,it can prevent the formation of carbide and promote the precipitation of graphite and the nodulizing.then the mechanical capacity can be the same of steel's.

- Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was released on November 8th and is available now. Metal Gear Solid Rising is showing up as Dec. 31, 2012 but that's most likely because they haven't set a release date for it yet. I would guess more like Holiday season, 2012.

- Metal fan. I think it's a good source for getting information on many metal bands but for the most part, I don't care for it at all. I think it's little more than the metal elitist capitol of the internet. The moderators that run it just love thinking that they're the ones who say what metal is and isn't and are some of the biggest metal elitists you'll find on the internet. They completely forbid genres like nu metal and glam metal (despite having M?tley Crüe and Twisted Sister archived under heavy metal lol) and yet according to them, Rush is officially a metal band. They don't even allow bands that have had major influences on heavy metal like Blue ?yster Cult and Van Halen. Not even Led Zeppelin is allowed in the archives. To me, to not allow those bands is very misleading. Especially not allowing Led Zeppelin; whether you see them as metal or not, there's no denying that they're one of the biggest pioneers of heavy metal. So yeah, I think the Metal-Archives are a joke and little more than a limited encyclopedia for metal elitists.

- Very few metals exist in the elemental state due to their chemical activity. Gold and copper can be found as elemental metals. Most metals occur in nature as compounds such as metal oxides, metal sulfides, etc Metals can be extracted from their compounds by chemically combining the compound with an electron donor (reducing agent) or by electrolysis as used in refining aluminum from its ore. Google refining of metals and see what you find.

Which means that the 100 ml soln you made up from all the salt produced contains 0.043 mols metal. This same soln also contains 2.2g metal (6.8g salt - 4.6g chlorine). So the atomic mass of the metal is 52 g/mol (2.2g/0.043mols) Consulting the Periodic Chart shows Cr, chromium, is the only metal possible...QED So the metal is chromium, and the salt is chromic chloride, CrCl3 If you want to check this answer calc % metal in the salt you obtained [100x2.2/6.8 = 32.4%]....and in CrCl3 [100x52/(52+3x35.5) = 32.8%]...close enough agreement since you really only have two sig figures to work with. These problems are easy if you stay focused...right? :-))

- Dont make any friends with hardcore traditional metalheads at first. Find the open minded ones. They'll be less likely to make fun of you if you dont know enough metal. Dont wear a band T shirt unless you know basic history on them, at least 3 lps of theirs and 10 songs from them. Always keep a top ten fave metal songs/bands of a band, metal subgenre or period within easy reference. Be very careful when dressing metal. Essential bands to know about: Iron Maiden (awesome traditional metal band and pioneers of power metal Black Sabbath (the grandads of metal) Metallica (most mainstream metal band) Motorhead (speed metal inventors) Venom (thrash and black metal pioneers) Judas Priest (awesome traditional metal band) Dream Theater (progressive metal) Helloween (power metal creators) Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax (Thrash 4 along with Metallica) Exodus and Testament (really awesome thrash metal bands) Death (death metal pioneers) Ozzy Osbourne Dio Also know about NWOBHM Knowing about Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin will not hurt either.
