Q: I have a hp laptop from south asia. The adapter connects with the laptop and the power cable. The power cable has a 3 round pin plug which says 6A 240V~. On the hp adapter for the input it says: 100-240V~ 1.6A 5-60Hz. It also says Connect Only to Grounded outlets.Now I am in canada. All i know is that here they have 120 V in normal power plugs. Also they have 1 round and 2 rectangular pins to plug in the outlet.I bought this adapter which basically connects the 3 round pin plug into the adapter and the adapter has 3 canadian pins. The thing is that it says 250V 10A on the adapter. So I am not sure if it will hurt my laptop if I use it. I am a bit confused because Canada has 120V and the adapter accepts 250V. The HP adapter has a range from 100-240V. Will this be ok to use since the HP adapter will just convert the 120V into the proper output for the laptop or do I need one the expensice Voltage converters for the laptop?: It will work fine on 120 or 250 volts, the grounded outlet is for your safety, most places in Asia are doing away with the round plugs ok.....

Q: can you use a standard molex power cable on a SATA HD or do you have to use a SATA power cable to power it?: A lot of the newer SATA drive come only with the SATA power cable...many of the earlier ones had used the old style power cable, but most of that has gone away now.

Q: i cant seem to find a place to put my power cable to the inner part of the car.i dont seem to find a decent place to drill a hole to or the firewall i think its what itscalled, im using a buick regal 1992.... i was thinking of putting it through the door, is that safe?is it done sometimes or not recommended at all?: Pull the carpet up in the front passenger cabin and you should see a plastic grommet somewhere low along the firewall that you can slip it through. Q: as far as i know, the only cable that connects the hdd with my motherboard is the sata cable, is this the cable that will do both transfer data and also provide electricty? or do i need another cable to connect the hdd and to power supply? same for my sata dvd burner, thx!: also to add in for the power connector. check the back of you HDD to see if it has the dual power connector on the back. i have seen alot of them with both a standard IDE connector and a sata connector choice for giving it power. i put a WD sata 80 gig in my girlfriends with the dual set-up. nothing in the system was sata till i got ahold of it. put a sata card in with the drive and the 7200rpm's made the 1100 athlon alot faster.

Q: How do I connect this unit to my cd player? Splicing power cables? not too detailed in the manual.?: im sure it comes with a power harness(plug) you prob have to do some splicing just connect it t0 the same place where you get power for the cd player your probably going to get a wire harness for your cd player right? just match the wires from your cd to your ipod thingy before you solder or crimp your connections
