Q:I ordered the Data Transfer Cable for Xbox 360 Hard Disk Drive, but the software it came with doesn't seem to allow me to back up individual pieces of content that i have. I have a 120 gb hard drive from my current xbox, and a 20 gb hard drive from my previous hard drive. Apparently it is designed to copy stuff to your hard drive, but i really just want to copy all the rock band songs and large saved games to my new hard drive. Can any help out with this? Is there any free software online that can do this?: No, when you use the data transfer cable, it moves the data from one device to another, and can only transfer data from a smaller device to one of equal storage or higher storage compasity (Ex. 20GB-20GB, 20GB-60GB, 20GB-120GB, etc.). If you want to copy the data, you can either use a USB flash drive or use your computer to transfer the data. I used the USB flash drive to transfer my data from my 20GB HDD to my 60GB HDD and it took a few hours. Hope this helped.

Q:got this data cable for LG2030, got the driver CD (meant for XP) along it, and Vista did the rest of locating the drivers from the CD to install the 2 drivers, and I had it work perfectly. A week later, I was doing Windows Update, and it showed an optional update for the driver of the USB converter for the data cable. I started downloading it, and just before it was going to get over, the internet connection got disrupted, and the download failed. Then on, whenever insert the data cable into the port, Vista shows a blue screen (not BSOD) showing stop error to prevent damage to computer and recommended me to reinstall the drivers. Once I uninstalled the drivers, and inserted the data cable, it just didn't say found new hardware nor asked me for the drivers. It just didn't work. Sorry for the long explanation. Please try to help me out!: See if you can roll back the driver in the device manager. If not reinstall the old driver. The next time you go Windows Update just hide that update. Also go to the manufacturer's web site and see if they have a recent update for the device. The reason it didn't show the error after you unplugged the device is because the computer no longer recognized it as being a problem device (it wasn't plugged in).

There are two types of eithernet - patch and crossover. Patch is for routers/hub/switch-to-computers, crossover is for computer-to-computer (without hubs, switches, or routers)

Q:Help me settle a debate. I say, when we test this data jack it will fail. But, my partner says it will still work. Again, the horizantal pathway is all 568b. But, the patch cable on the tester is 568a. HELP?: Yes, it will work. The only difference between 568a and 568b is where the pairs are located. In 568a the orange pair are on pins 3 6 and the green pair are on pins 1 2. In 568b it is just the opposite. So as long as you keep the same pattern from end to end your data will flow properly.
