- It may or may not, depending on the quality of the cable. A shorter cable will probably work just fine, most cables can handle the 1.1 or 2.0 speeds. Longer cables need to be designed for 2.0. People shouldn't mix facts like USB 1.1 port versus cables that were made when 1.1 was out. Cables are a totally different issue. Just like CAT5 cables were made for 100mbps, but many will run 1000mbps just fine. It's the design of the cable and the distance you are pushing the data that makes it important what cable you use. I've used short, older USB cables on 2.0 ports and devices just fine. If you get any hang-ups or other bad behavior, then yes, that cable is probably not good for the purpose you are using it for. However if it works just fine, then you can keep using it. Data integrity is up to the transfering software (and in some cases the hardware), whether it be disk data transfer or USB. What's to say the data integrity is good to an external USB disk, even with the right cables? Most windows file copy does not verify anything

- What you need to do (this is easy) is get an sd or micro SD card for the phone, insert that into the slot, and then connect the usb cable. Even though the cable is attached to the phone, you're really syncing to the card, and you don't need a driver for that. Youy may have to then go into the phone settings and look for something like USB mass storage (the phone might offer to do this when you connect). The SD card will show up on your windows explorer as a removable drive. You can then copy to it as you would to a directory on the HD or a flash drive (explore the card first, you may need to copy to specific folders). This sounds harder than it really is - bit you'll soon find this more practical than iTunes because you're not using a specific piece of software that (among other things) limits your ability to copy FROM the device to your computer. I've been doing this for years since I got a Verizon Voyager about 2 years ago (since replaced). Doing it this way, I can watch videos, look at pictures and listen to mp3 files on my phone. Best of all, when you replace your phone, you can just take the card out and put it in your new phone - no need to copy them again.

See that your desktop and laptop have the IP addresses configured for the same network domain in simple words if the IP address of your desktop looks like 'aaa.bbb c.ddd', then your laptop should be configured to an IP address as 'aaa.bbb c.xxx'. note that only the last one needs a change (for simplicity change the IP address of the machine which doesn't have a connection to the internet) If you have Windows XP in either/both systems u can set up a local LAN connection easily

- the data cable is crap and so is the software. If you have a micro sd memory card then all you need is a card reader for your computer and the memory card adapter. Put the micro sd card in your phone and format it. Then stick it in the micro sd adapter, then put that in the memory reader which goes in your computer. It will be read as a removable drive. Open it and drag all your mp3's into the music folder.
