Q: I've heard some bad things about them, although on newegg they have one that is 140$ and is a quad core that starts out of the box at 4.2ghz.: There really isn't anything bad about them...they just didn't live up to the expectations WE thought they would have when compared to the Intel. They came out late...the bulldozer was slated to come out before the 1155 sandy bridge...knowing the price for the previous gen of CPUs when the 2600K came out at under $300 I was floored! We had expected the Bulldozer to be at 3.8GHz or better/faster and of course be cheaper than intel...It didn't happen!

Q: Choosing parts for a new gaming rig. I can't decide between the Intel 2600k, which just released this month, or wait for the AMD Bulldozer, which comes out in Q2 of 2011 supposedly. Any suggestions as to which is better? I've never tried AMD before and I thought I might give it a try but it's quite a long wait.: The 2600K has a significant advantage over ANY AMD chip, even the high end 6 cores.
