Q:My washer is 20 volts 60 gz,9.6 amps. The solar panels I am looking at are: Sharp ND-208U Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,479.99 Only $,049.99 Sharp Solar Panels (208 Watt) List Price $,352.99 Only $,040.99 If I buy that will it be enough to run my washer?
Don't you think it kinda depends on the panels? It's not like they're all one size. The A/C units are going to take significant power when in use as will an electric clothes dryer which you failed to mention. And we also have no earthly idea where you live in order to know how many hours of sun you'll be able to rely upon or how frequently you'll need to cool or what the square footage is you're cooling. Are you intending to live completly off grid? If so you'll want to be concerned with battery (which is cost prohibitive) or some other sort of back up for times when the sun isn't out.
Q:Well, I am looking for a cheap way on building a solar panel, instead of buying by the manufacturing stores. I would like to stay in the budget up to ,000 dollars. I want to have Solar Energy for my house because the sun is always shining. Is there a way I can make the Light power some of my house? What would I need? How much time would it take?Where can I get the items I need?
there is a website that sells a book for $40 thattells you how to do it cheaply check it out just google earth4energy
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a military base?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a military base. In fact, many military bases around the world have already implemented solar energy systems as part of their efforts to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and promote renewable energy. Solar panels provide a sustainable and cost-effective source of electricity for various facilities and operations on the base. Additionally, the installation of solar panels on military bases can contribute to energy independence, resiliency, and environmental sustainability.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a canopy or pergola?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a canopy or pergola. In fact, these structures can provide an ideal location for solar panel installation as they are often situated in areas with good sun exposure. By placing solar panels on canopies or pergolas, you can maximize the use of available space while also providing shade and protection from the elements.
Q:How do solar panels impact the electricity bill?
Solar panels can significantly reduce or even eliminate electricity bills as they generate clean and renewable energy from the sun, reducing the reliance on traditional grid electricity. By harnessing solar power, homeowners and businesses can offset their electricity consumption and potentially earn credits by feeding excess electricity back into the grid. This can lead to substantial savings and a more sustainable energy future.
Q:I want to get solar panels but not spend 20,000!! I found out that you can get a panel to run only your AC unit, I also found something that will run my pool pump! Anyone own either of these? How did you do? Where did you go? How much was it, and was it hard to install?
Your problem will be the days that are too cloudy, rainy, (snowy won't apply since you will need A/C during summertimes) and the night hours when there is no sunlight. A battery might be okay for a while but if you have to have a good one. Is there is a battery that can run an air conditioner for long without crapping out! I don't think you will ever recoup your investment.
Q:I'm trying to charge rechargeable AA batteries with a solar panel. What guage wire should I use to connect the panel to the batteries? Should I use a diode to keep the batteries from overpowering the circuit? If so, what size? My panel is 4.8V 50mA.
You not only need a diode, but a circuit that opens the circuit if the voltage falls below a certain level. The diode is not the problem, but the batteries powering the solar panel when the voltage falls to low.
Q:Installing solar panels requires a big initial investment. Before I make this investment I want to check to see if the money I will save by installing solar panels will actually pay for this investment, in the long run. To calculate my savings, we should consider the area (square feet) I currently have available to install solar panels. Look at the available sunlight and its intensity in my state each month of the year. Based on this data estimate how much energy my solar panel will generate. Then compare that with how much energy (kWh) I currently consume based on my electricity bill.
Only by doing the calculations (figuring out how much you electricity bill is per month now and calculate how much time it will take to get to the figure of your solar panels. Don't forget to add a couple of percentage points per year higher(since when has electrical costs gone down)? and do the addition. That is when you will pay off the solar panels, as their power is free.
Q:We have LED at the output of 40 watts and is used for 0 hours giving us 400 Watts-hr of energy consumed.Rechargable batteries needed are 2 V. 400/2 gives us 34 Ampere-hour battery needed. If we want it for 3 days, It would be 34x3=00 Ah. So the battery needed 00 AhNow how do I select the solar panel which can charge this/these batteries? What should be its rating?
Be aware that you cannot discharge the full capacity of a lead-acid battery without destroying the battery. With a normal battery of this type, you would only want to discharge about 20%, so you would need a 70 AH battery bank. For the 3-day requirement, 500 AH. This is still within reason. If you didn't have the 3-day requirement, you might consider going with NiMH batteries. Back to the 500 AH bank, you would usually charge at at least 5% C, or 25 amps. At the 5 volts that you need for charging, this is 375 watts. Possibly you could go as low as 200 watts.
Q:Can solar panels be used in areas with high levels of dust or sandstorms?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with high levels of dust or sandstorms. However, frequent and heavy exposure to dust or sand can reduce their efficiency over time. Regular cleaning and maintenance are necessary to ensure optimal performance in such areas. Additionally, advanced solar panel designs and coatings are being developed to mitigate the impact of dust and sand accumulation, making them more suitable for use in these challenging environments.
