Q:Is there a free site or resource that will teach you how to do this? Hopefully step by step and tells you how to buy all the parts ect?Which is the best resource for sale earth4energy, homemadeenergy, ect? Do they actually work and also as well as those which are professionally done? They say it will cost under $200 for a panel, but how much will this panel actually produce I mean how many panels would you have to make to produce 00% of your homes energy?
there are plenty of free sites that tell you how to install your own solar panels. Just google diy solar panels. as to how many panels you need, it depends on what all you're trying to have them run.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a hotel or hospitality establishment?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be installed on a hotel or hospitality establishment. In fact, many hotels and resorts are increasingly adopting solar energy systems to reduce their carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, carports, or even as ground-mounted arrays, providing clean and renewable energy to power various operations within the establishment.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on research facilities or laboratories?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on research facilities or laboratories. In fact, many research facilities and laboratories are increasingly adopting solar energy as a clean and sustainable power source. The installation of solar panels helps reduce carbon emissions, lowers electricity costs, and promotes a greener and more environmentally-friendly approach to conducting scientific research.
Q:I'm looking for some advice on hot water solar panels. I'm trying to save some money on electricity. A neighbor has been suggesting solar powered equipment for some time now, and I think he's right. It does save quite a bit of money in the long run. They're kind of expensive though, so I'm looking for cheaper alternatives.
I worked for a plumbing service that offered hot water solar panel installs and replacements. I've replaced perfectly good solar panels for people who wanted to upgrade to the latest. We had piles and piles of panels out behind the shop. We use to scrap the copper and sell the glass panes. A few people would ask to scavenge panels and the boss would let them have it cheap, just to move some of the stuff. I would do the same. I'd find a local installer and see what they do with the leftovers. Chances are, if you searched diligently, you could probably find panels in good shape and use them to supplement your energy usage. Bear in mind, solar hot water system are very different from standard systems. They usually have a much larger storage tank. Typically 80-20 gallons compared to 40. They have a circulating pump and temperature sensors to move the heated water from the panel into the tank. These larger hot water heaters/tanks have much better storage and insulation to keep the water temperature that is generated during the day to last into the evening when people are home to use the shower and wash clothes to take advantage of solar heat. It's not just a matter of getting a panel and slapping it up. There's are technical aspects that need to be followed and if you don't know them, I would advise against doing it yourself. Study up on it and see if it's something you want to tackle on your own before you go too far doing legwork to find out details that might be cost prohibitive or too complicated. Good luck.
Q:How much space do I need for solar panels?
The amount of space required for solar panels depends on various factors such as the size and type of panels, the efficiency of the panels, and the energy needs of your household or facility. On average, a 1 kW solar panel system typically requires around 100 square feet of space. However, it is best to consult with a solar installer or expert who can assess your specific requirements and provide accurate information regarding the space needed for solar panels.
Q:How do solar panels and heaters work?
the cells inside the solar panels absorb the suns energy using it to heat water which generates steam and makes the generator go round and round like a windmill therefore producing energy
Q:I've built a set of lights, fan and a clock running on only solar power. The problem is, i have to present it tomorrow and when the light isn't particularly strong it won't work too well. It works flawlessly when its under my desk light on max brightness but the only the light works when i set it to low brightness. Currently, tomorrow in my city it won't be sunny so any advice for trying to make it work under low light?
Solar panels are designed to be used to recharge a battery or series of batteries, not for direct power. That is the inherent weakness of solar systems. The only way to have it work in low light conditions if to have several cells wired in series and have a voltage regulator to limit the amount of voltage that can be supplied. Other than that, add a battery and a charging circuit that the cell would supply power to.
Q:Dose a solar panel need the entire range or spectrum of sunlight to produce power?
It's a huge field of study, very important to solar cell development. People are trying to optimize spectral response for sunlight, even for sunlight in specific places. Google solar cell spectral response for many many websites. Most of them are specific to one experiment.
Q:I found portable solar panels used for boats etc. and was wondering how I could effectly use them for my home instead. If you have used them in the past, please tell how they worked (good or bad).
Most people think all one needs is some solar panels to make power. It doesn't usually work that way. On a boat it is easy because most boats use batteries and DC power. If all you want to do is make DC power, you will need a battery to hook your portable unit / units to. You can then use the battery to supply power to something that uses battery power. You may need a voltage converter if the device is not 2 volt. To use the power you get from solar panels for AC power like your house has, you need a regulator, inverter, and controller to change the DC output from the panel (s) to AC and then control the power into your electric system. You also need a unit from your electric company installed. A decent minimal solar system for an average house may cost around $5000 - $0,000. It will take many, many years to pay back. For a full-use system with generator, it will probably take $30,000 - $40,000 IF you don't use it for air conditioning. If you live in an area where you have a lot of cloudy days, it will take many, many, many, many years to pay back. The reason everyone isn't using solar power is because it is not cheap and has not been cost-effective for most situations. Most Americans would not like it's inconvenience at times. It is not new science. It is in use many places and well known. It is great for some applications and as fuel and electrical power cost increase it will be used more. Don't believe the media and hollywood. They are not interested in truth. They are just interested in making you believe their way. Study and learn.
Q:How hard is it to install solar energy panels on your house? Is this a reasonable way to produce 00% of your house's energy? Is there any danger?
