Q:i want to go off grid with solar panels but i need to know how many vots and watts i need to power my house
Complex question.... Let me try to simplify it some: Make a list of every electrical device you MUST have. Add to the list how many hours a day it is actually ON. Add to the list how many watts (listed on the label or Volts times Amps) the device uses. (If you have a measuring device, use it.) For each item, multiply volts times hours = watt-hours (this is total energy used per day). Also, add the watts column for all the devices (this is the maximum instantaneous power to be used). Your solar panels should be able to provide power for your total load, so your panel's output power should equal the maximum instantaneous power used. If you can limit how many devices are used at a time, you may be able to reduce the panel size. Look at the total watt-hours. This is the total energy. Your panels generate maximum output when they are perpendicular to the sun at noon on a clear day. They generate reduced output in the morning and afternoon. They also generate substantially reduced output on cloudy days. Also, did you want electricity at night? On cloudy days? You will need batteries.. lots of batteries. And batteries are inefficient.. figure about 50% efficiency after a few years. Basically, here is a very rough formula: Panel_watts = Load_watthours / hours_sun_daily / 60%_angle_efficiency / 50%_battery_inverter_efficiency Once you've figured out the panel's watts, watts/volts=amps. Your system can be 2V with more amps, or 48V with /4 the amps... but the watts are the same. Just the wiring is different. For the battery bank, you need to determine how much backup power you will need for nights and cloudy days. Look at the watt-hours needed at nite, multiply it by the number of days and then by 2, to allow for battery aging. Unless you only have a couple devices and an LED light or 2, it is going to be VERY expensive.
Q:. Does it really only cost $200 in contrast to $5000 or more?2. How much would it cost to build panels that would energize an entire average household? (washer, dryer, water heater, lights, fans, a/c)3. Is there a place to get the info on how to make them for free instead of paying E4E?4. Are the professional solar panels better? more efficient? 5. Will the electric company in So. Cal. really pay you?6. Do you have to be certified to do this professionally? or an electrician? If so what schools teach it?7. Would wind generators be of any use in So. Cal.? I mean don't you really need to get the fan spinning to get energy?8. Are there any extra unseen costs? (tools, energy converter, ect)9. How much is it to get an electrician to hook you to the grid?0. Is it better to hook to batteries or the grid? Pros, cons, why?
I believe Earth4Energy to be a bald-faced scam, selling plans that will not do what is implied in the marketing, and imparting no information that is not publicly available on the internet, already. If you were to search for solar panel on torrent sites, most likely, some disgruntled customer has posted the material. It probably violates the E4E copyright, so I'm not suggesting that you get it in this manner. I'm going to skip many of your questions, given my already-stated opinion of Earth4Energy. Professionally-installed panels have a net cost of thousands of dollars in general. While they can save money (and Southern Cal is an ideal place for this), consider that it generally takes 0 years or more to get your money back. If you're on S Cal Edison, or SD Gas and Electric, you can go on net metering. They don't really pay you, they credit your electric bill. After a year, if you used more electricity than you generated, you pay them. If you generated more than you used, they reset the balance to zero and say thanks for your donation. You never really get a check, like in some other states. But you should have lower electric bills. You can put up panels for your own use without any certification. To put up panels professionally, you'll need a C-0 contractor's license from the state, or will need to be under the supervision of someone with such a license. But if it's the latter, you might just be the grunt that carries the panels off the truck and up the ladder, for minimum wage. I'd say better than 95% of residentail solar is connected to the grid, if the grid is available. It's a clear winner. Who wants to pay 50% more for their system, just to have batteries that need their water and acid checked all the time? Below is one of many unsatisfied customers from Earth4Energy. Be careful in your search, people selling these reports have bought up the keywords such as scam and ripoff to direct you back to sites selling the product.
Q:Can u guys help on how solar panels work and how it generates electricity?(or u can give me a good website that has solar panel info on it)~Thanks in advance!~
Solar okorder under products that are sorted by watts per area. Also go to wikipedia to get more detailed information on solar cells.
Q:Can I fet free solar panels. This site okorder sells a book that tells how to, but I ordered tha book more then a year a go, and in never came. I even sent them a email a day for more then 3 months and never heard back from them. If anyone knows how to get free pannels, please let me know how. A $300.00 a month bill is slowly killing me.
Do not touch free solar panels with a barge pole. The installer keeps the feed-in tariff and owns the panels on your roof, a problem when you come to sell the house. Your only benefit is the free use of the electricity generated, if you happen to be in, or use time clocks, on dish washer, washing machine etc. My system has a target of 6 kWh per day. At 43.3p per unit this is a theoretical payment of ?6.92 a day. All you could gain, assuming you use every available kWh generated, would be ?.92, assuming a tariff of 2 p per kWh. The feed-in tariff goes down for new installations next April. In my opinion its a good buy, and should show an 8% return on our investment. I would not like to give the main benefit to someone else.
Q:Main questions: How can I work out the efficiency of a solar panel and how can I work out if the panel is relatively cost-effective? Also what type of solar panels is considered most effiecient?Let's assume that all relative values are available.Secondary question: What type of safety regulations and licenses are required to be fulfiled in order to import solar panels into the EU from non-EU countries?
Guide okorder /
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a military vehicle or equipment?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on military vehicles or equipment. In fact, many military forces around the world are increasingly adopting solar power as an alternative energy source for their vehicles and equipment. Solar panels can provide a reliable and sustainable source of power, reducing the dependency on traditional fuel sources and improving the operational efficiency of military operations.
Q:do solar panels create electricity from the ultraviolet light created from the sun? because they only have an efficientcy of like 8% and this scientist found out a way to collect the visible light also, and he says the solar panel could have an effeciency of up to 80%! so my question really is, do solar penels creat electricity from heat? do you know of anything that can?
They create electricity from light energy provided by the sun....
Q:Can solar panels be used for powering electric gates?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power electric gates. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be stored in batteries or directly used to power various devices, including electric gates. This allows for a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to operate electric gates without relying on traditional electrical grids.
Q:how much electricity will produce in Kwh by a 000 W solar panel in a sunny tropical area per day (good sunlight at least 0 hour a day)
Solar cell has efficiency from 0% to 5% max. That is the technology we have as for now. It stated 000W, that means it could provide 000W under fully super condition . KWH is not a unit to rate solar panel, it was used for wattmeter that company installed in every house to monitor electricity usage.
Q:lately i have been interested in solar power. i own my own home and in Texas it's HOT, so my A/C is always on and that light bill is like $300.00 a month. i was looking at other light companies but then i remembered that there are the so called solar power but i dont knowknow to start or how it would work to power the a/c machine...pls help
Solar panels are a great way to cut back on your energy bill. Once you are hooked up to solar energy, the home owner does absolutly nothing different than if you buy electricity from the power-company. Sinse you live in texas, it is more than likely you will not be able to use purely solar power to meet your energy needs unless you purchase a large system ($30,000+). However with enough of an investment, you can 'Sell' your energy back to the power company and greatly reduce your electric bill. I would call a licensed Solar Power company for more information if you do not know much about solar. While the system is relativally simple, it should only be designed and installed by trained licensed professionals.
