Q: I am trying to replace the window switch for the driver side and forgot the order of the wires. Can anyone hlep me.: Check out the link below. This is actually for the replacement of the window motor for the 4th gen. f-bodies. But, it does show picz of the switch and the wires leadin to the switch. Good luck!

Q: Two wires are placed parallel to each other. What would be the effect of passinga) upward current through both wiresb) an upward current throgh one wire and a downward current through the other.Explain.: a) When the currents through both the wires are in the same direction, the magnetic field due to each midway between them, by right-hand thumb rule, will be in opposite directions. This will result in attraction between the wires. b) When the currents through both the wires are in the opposite directions, the magnetic field due to each midway between them, by right-hand thumb rule, will be in the same direction. This will result in respulsion between the wires.

Q: I just read an article about a man who was electrocuted by a live overhead wire while trimming a tree. Horrible. My question is I see squirrels running on all the overhead wires. How do they not get electrocuted?: Electrocution happens when electricity finds a way to ground. Squirrels are not grounded so they don't get shocked. Ever watch the Discovery channel? They've shown how the power company works on high voltage lines without shutting the power off. A helicopter hovers next to the power line while a technician reaches out to the power line with a probe. Once contacted the helicopter and the technician are at the same potential voltage so nobody gets shocked. However, during approach they are NOT at the same potential. That's the reason for making contact with he wire with a probe first. So that the technician doesn't take a big hit when he first touches the live wire. So squirrels, birds, rats - anything that can land on the wires doesn't get electrocuted. But if an animal touches the wire AND ground (or another wire), it's all over in a blinding flash. Q: How do you wire a 2 wire smoke detector directly to an alarm (no panel). The terminals are numbered 1,2,3,4 and the instructions say that 1 is for DC+ and 2 is for DC-. How do I wire an alarm so when the detector senses smoke, the alarm goes off? Thank you.: A 2-wire smoke detector? You mean one that plugs into AC? You cannot wire those into any alarm system. If you had a 3-wire (for linking multiple AC-powered units), you might be able to connect an external 120vac relay that closes the alarm contacts when the third (often yellow or blue) wire is switched on. Hardwired smoke alarms for an alarm system get a 12vdc voltage from the panel and also have a pair of dry contacts that are either normally open or (more likely) normally closed until the sensor is triggered.

Q: What do you use to seal up the hole in the OUTSIDE wall where the cable TV and telephone wires and electrical wires all go thru? I want to replace my telephone wire coming in to the house, because I have DSL and it is really slow. I figured it couldn't hurt to replace the 45 year old wire coming in! :D I'm gonna use the best wire I can find (ANY SUGGESTIONS on what kinda wire to get? :D) to go from the telephone box outside to the DSL jack, but I need to no what to use to seal up the outside hole, when I rip out whatever is plugging it up now! :DThanks! ~Cindy! :D: Depending on the size of the hole, you should be able to fill it with silicone sealer. If it's brick you will need to get the mortar type. If it's a big hole you may need a lot more repair than what we can go over here.

Q: What is the wiring for one headlight on a fourwheeler that has high and low beams.: one terminal on the bulb is common to both low and high beam. that will be the ground. the other two are the hi and low beam supply .take a test light and see which two of the three wires has power to ground . once the two hot wires are identified , the third wire will go to the common terminal on the head light bulb. take the other two and see which is hi and low by switching the switch and connect to the bulb . test the light before reinstalling it if there is no power at the wires than the problem is somewhere else

Q: I already tried wire cutters, and they just bend it!: Get a new pair of wire cutters. That's what wire cutters do... Cut wire.

Q: Can your use the power wire that they sell at home depo to do the big three upgrade or is it better to just get wire from a car audio store?: the wire from homedepo will work alight its just not real flexible but it will work

Q: I need to buy some electrical wire for my car, does it matter what color the copper wire is inside of ( i.e. black,yellow,red,green,blue,etc.): Wire comes in different gages, as well as colors. But if it is copper it will work.
