- the time to check the steering wheel alignment was in the alignment shop, ask the guy who did it to adjust it, sometimes you have to center the wheel by getting the truck wheels totally straight, then taking off the wheel and moving over one or more teeth. use a steering wheel puller, or call a large friend to baby huey the thing off the steering post .
