Aluminium Foil For Different Use
1) Structure of Aluminium Foil Description:
Aluminium foils thicker than 25mic are impermeable to oxygen and water. Foils thinner than this become slightly permeable due to minute pinholes caused by the production process.
In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). The foil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes laminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplanted tin foil in the mid 20th century.
2)Main features of the Aluminium Foil:

- Q: If I use a aluminum foil baking pan and put 25 egg cardboard type of carton on the top and and use Poly Twine to soak up water up to the egg carton to water the seedsI can make this for a couple of dollars vs spending $100s for a professional seed growerMy only question is will the Poly Twine soak up water or what should I us to soak the water up?
- I have a few pots that have a false bottom plate that stand inside the pot but an inch above the pot bottomIts on legsThere is a hole in the side below this bottom plate to pour in waterThe plate has a wide cotton like strap that dips down below the plate on both end and the middle sits above the plateBy pouring water in the hole , this strap pulls it up to the soilBut egg carton may loose the water too fast by evoporationBesides, just one big square pan can give roots more space than those tiny cellsI would take that aluminum pan, poke holes in the bottom, fill with soil, plant seeds and periodically dip the whole pan in an inch of water for 15 minutes.
- Q: i need help on this papers is there any good ideas where i could start out this paper? thank you
- I use butter or Garlic butter flavored crecent rolls-
- Q: or any fish really, i don't like salmon that much but any good ways of cooking that would be great, cod and tuna is the best and i would love a different way of cooking itwhat i always do is put some lemon thyme on it and wrap in in tin foil and bake in the oven) i like mine cooked and not squishy ) could i put some batter on the fish and put it in a pot full of oil? so its like the one you get from the shopi don't have a deep fryer thing and i don't want onelol sorry i'm babbling, just post away ) thanks D
- make fish cakes, put the cod in a pan and cover with milk, and poach for about 20 minutes meanwhile, boil some potatoes for mashingwhen your potatoes are cooked, use the milk used to poach the cod for the mash, you don't need any butter, flake the cod and mix into the mash, season and add a little parsley, make into fishcake shapes, coat with a little beaten egg and breadcrumbs and then fry in a little oilserve with your choice of veg or salad, they taste much better than any shop bought ones
- Q: Or is it possible to buy two crusts and make one the top?
- You can buy a package of frozen crust that has 2 pie crusts in the package Remove one of the pie crusts from the aluminum pie plate and lay it on a lightly floured counter or lint free towelAllow it to thaw then lightly roll it out about 1 inch larger then the original disc of doughThe crust that remains in the aluminum pie plate should thaw a bit and then lightly pinch the edge all the way around to make the edge a bit higherFill your pie crust that remains in the pie plate then place the flattened dough over the top then fold the dough under the raised edge and crimp closedBake as directed in your recipe.
- Q: i have been scootering for a while now and i am pretty good at it and i want to buy these bars but i want to make sure they are goodi am going to put them on my ultra pro razor scooter.District Aluminium bars - White Powdercoatif anyone has bought these bars i would like to know your rating 1-5 and whyare they strong? are they light? would they fit my ultra pro? - The oxidation number of Aluminum (Al) is always +3.
- Q: I have a mirror that I think is framed in tin or aluminum that I got in San Antonio, TXWhile being stored it rustedWill anything take that off?
- It would be tin, not aluminum since aluminum doesn't rustNavel Jelly will damage the paint on the back of the mirror if any leaks behind the frame so I suggest you use graduating steel wool to burnish away the rustYour final finish could be made shiney with a polishing rouge if you want or leave it matte finished once you complete the removalI have 35 years experience in antique restoration.
- Q: that are semi-simple to make??
- I wouldn't skip dredging in flour which i think really helps to achieve a nice crust and also hold on to more of the sauceAll you do is dip your wings in a egg wash (two eggs whisked with 1/2 a cup of milk) and then toss in a bowl of flour (you can add cayenne pepper to the flour to add some spice)cover the bowl with aluminum foil or cling wrap and shake to coat with the flourdeep Fry in 350 degree cooking oil (canola or peanut etc) until doneYou can also bake the wings instead (350 for an hour and 10 minutes) but I find it makes them MUCH more dry and the crust just isnt the sameIf you bake, bake them already dipped in the below sauceNow the sauce, here is where you're going to decide your level of heat! Personally I like hot wings HOT, so my sauce has NO butter, the butter is mainly used to cut the heat level of sauces so if you like the heat level of the sauce you're using (i use franks red hot as my base) leave it be, if it's too spicy melt butter into it until you find the heat level acceptableIf you're like me and the heat level of the red hot sauce isn't hot enough (or if you added butter to mellow the flavor of your base hot sauce) then it's time to add cayenne pepper, again add this to your sauce mix little by little until you get the right heat level you like, I go over a tablespoon per batch but again, i like them HOTI also add a few grinds from a pepper mill to my sauce as I think it's brings a nice flavor to compliment the heatDon't be afraid to keep dipping a spoon into the sauce and tasting it, once your sauce is where you want it, combine it with the wings in a bowl and shake to coat them with the sauceremove and serve, easy peasy
- Q: So I am making a birthday cake and the recipe says you should put parchment/wax paper down, but i dont have any!Could i line the pan with foil.???Would that effect the baking??
- A lot depends on two or three thingsHow much money do you have to spend? That will help determine which two or three you can useI like the AirFirst it is fast, it is very light and it is not all that expensiveThe only problem people have with it is the lack of a disk driveHowever I have two external drives, both are fantastic burners and both were cheapThey also came with their own Mac DriversI have external HD, to the tune of 2tb and external zip drive and external floppy driveIf it is external I got itOther than being hit with dumb stick when I went Mac buying a few months ago I would have been the owner of an AirI own a MacBook Pro (intel of course), it is fast, aluminum, heavier than I can carry now days so I loaned it to a friend who needed an intel MacBookShe is in 7th heaven, loves the speed, the ports, the ability to use VOIPShe is a videographer, does wonderful workShe loves the heavy duty computing power over the G5 she has been usingMacBook (classic), Own two of these, (no kids), one on permanent loan and the other is part of my home herd (4 in number)I have this years MacBookIt is ready for Lion, already has the interesting touchpad, it is running at 2.4ghz, hey when I started with mac and one went to 7mhz, so I am more than pleased with the speed and power, plus I get hours of use, usually 0730 plus hoursSo I am more than pleased except that it doesn't have firewireThere is a work around, so I am not all that bothered by itI think the Classic should handle anything college could toss outSome demand a specific OS type program, but Macs run both Mac and Windows natively, so I don't see that as a problemU just get boot camp, follow the instructions and get a partition and put Windows in the partitionHave fun at college
- Q: Will the aluminum Foil give my meat food piosoning? just wondering cuase I don't have any zip black bags.
- No problemthink of all the food stored in foil packs
- Q: When i take sandwiches to school is it better to wrap them with wax paper and then aluminum to keep it warm, because i have read many things about aluminum being bad for the health so i want to avoid contact with foodSo is wax paper a better alternative and safe to wrap around hot foodThanks.
- Wax paper has been used for wrapping sandwiches for many, many, years by professionalsIt helps keep a sandwich moist Adding foil simply seals in some of the warmth and more moistureSandwich might be a bit soggy, but if you want to avoid the foil touching the sandwich, then this will work wellFoil will react with some sandwich ingredients, so wrapping in wax paper or plastic wrap is always a good stepEnjoy!
