Q:Plastic Bottles and cancer. ?
The hoax email(s) claim to have come from Johns Hopkins University; as you see from the links this isn't true. You can also read a statement from Johns Hopkins on the issue.
Q:When asked, Paper or plastic?
This is a really tough question although I would have to say paper. Yes we have to cut down trees but plastic is so bad for the environment. Plastic that we use today will always be on the earth, it never breaks down. You can't recycle plastic, burning it produces tonnes of Co2 emissions. The toxic chemicals that make up plastic are really bad for the environment, animals and even our health. At least with paper you can recycle it and it does break down.
Q:should i use cardboard or plastic???
Plastic are easier to learn with. I recommend Tampax Pearls which are a plastic applicator tampon. We hear from girls daily that tell us these are reliable and easy to insert. Once you get good at insertion you can switch to the cardboard applicator if you want. Your Beinggirl Expert Panel
Q:Can hamsters get the flu???and is plastic good for them?
plastic is not good for them if they eat it
Q:How would I go about molding plastic?
This is a great question. Why would someone use the non-wood crown molding? I personally have never used platic, but I did use an engineered MDF type product. I chose it over wood for a very specific reason, my walls weren't perfectly square. With the Medium Density Fiberboard or MDF I got the wiggle room necessary to make a really good fit. MDF is slighly less rigid than its hardwood counterpart. For my application the difference in this area made the difference for the project because I was going to pain the wood a semi-gloss white either way. I strongly recommend the malleability of the MDF over the hardwood. Plastic would be an acceptable option because once you have it in place, nobody is ever going to touch it. Also, I chose a molding that didn't have a lot of intricate cuts of dental work. If I had chosen a more historical molding that had these types of design effects I probably would have considered a plastic over the wood product simply because of price. It is much cheaper to create as compared to the wood products, and as such, you are able to experiment more with it. But once it is on the wall, the casual person shouldn't be able to tell the difference between any of these products if it has been installed correctly. Essentially, install, putty, paint. Once it has been painted, they should look essentially the same.
Q:Which product do you think is more environmentally friendly? Wood or Plastics?
Wood by far, but unfortunately many things cannot be made out of wood. Many medical advances would have been impossible without the use of plastics. So use wood for as much as can be feasibly made out of it.
