Q:What are all the types of plastic?
Too many to name, there isn't a finite number of them anyway, just the ones in use and the ones that have been named.
Q:Burning plastic; what does it produce?
Plastics are derived from petroleum and they burn a lot like petroleum too. The black smoke is mainly carbon, formed because the flame did not have enough oxygen to burn the carbon completely. If you take the burning plastic outside on a calm night and hold another flame in the carbon, you might see it light up the entire length of soot. Diesel fuel is similar in composition to plastic and therefore has similar combustion properties. Therefore most of the carbon formed when plastic burns incompletely is related to diesel particulate in the air.
Q:What plastic is used in flasks?
The highest melting point plastic I found was Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) with a melting point of 640°F. Glass melts at 2600-2900 °F, so plastic flasks are not a viable alternative to glass. The bunsen burner flame using natural gas has a maximum temperature of 3562°F. I suppose you could argue that if liquid was in the flask, the liquid temperature would cool the base of the plastic flask, so it would might work. But plastic is a good insulator as well, so the plastic might start to melt even with liquid in the flask. And if the water boiled away, the flask would melt for sure, unlike a Pyrex glass flask.
Q:Where can I find shrink plastic?
Shrink Plastic Sheets
Q:Is it hard to recycle plastic?
In general it is easy and inexpensive to recycle plastic. Your experience with the tote is strange and I wonder what was really being sold? To recycle plastic it is separated by type. PE. PP,PET and PETG are the most common packaging materials. Next comes the hardest part, which is removing all the labels and residues. Once the plastic is clean you just grind it into little bits and melt it to form pellets that can be melted and formed into new stuff. The amount of energy to do this is minimal. The plastic is not quite as strong, and cannot be made white or clear, but it is fine for many uses. These totes sound strange. Why would they have the rough texture, and the odor indicating a volatile outgassing? Plastics used for packaging do not outgas. Perhaps some new process that uses glue to bind dissimilar plastics? Best to leave those on the shelf.
Q:Is soy plastic safe?
as far as i know there is a so ya based plastic that is environmental friendly
Q:How have plastics have changed the way we live our lives?
Well Lily plastic changed or lives. This material is everywhere around you. Look around! Plastic changed our lives in so many ways. I'll just give some examples and if so. Some plastic is use to hold liquid in containers. To the party cups use to syringes. Plastic can hold and trap gas too. Many parachutes contain plastic which helps to trap air. Some plastics hold other materials too. Modern sharpeners are made with plastic and plastic bags hold groceries. Other plastic is use to transport water through pipes.Even the computer or device is made of plastic. However plastic is harmful too. Plastic releases toxic such as gas, litter, biodegradable and non-biodegradable. This caused impacts of the greenhouse effect. (global warming) Plastic caused landfills. These are examples how plastic changed our lives. (I'm sorry I wrote to much) -I hope this may help
Q:Where to buy Plastic Cups with lids?
thanks for the plastic waste you will ADD to the rubbish in the pacific ocean. Your wasteful short sighted plastic will add to the whole mess that short sighted people are ruinung my planet with. here does the plastic go hen you have used 200 of them- into the rubbish bin> Then where? To a dump? Then? They get taken out to sea and dumped. And, when you go on holiday to Fiji, or Hawaii, you will see washed up plastic flipflops, polystyrem takeout containers and plastic cups from Smart and Final, washed up and tangles in plastic webbed orange bags and plastic fruit holders, and all this junk trapes birds, fish, animals and kills them by slowly choking htem, the ends up on beaches everywhere and YOU have done this by buying 20 plastic cups from that stupid shop smart and final or wherever. Try using paper cups- recycyled, or glass cups from a thrift store. Plastic is seflish and weedy and puts you right alongside the fast food slobs who throw out their takekout containers into the sea.
Q:Plastic Surgery - Your opinion of it?
try telling that to someone who has been horribly burnt, in a major trauma or with a congenital defect. There is more to being a doctor than saving lives. quality of life is a major consideration. otherwise why would we give people knee replacements? a bung knee doesn't kill you but it certainly can stop you doing alot of the things that most of us take for granted.
Q:put bettas in plastic bin?
A lot of breeders use plastic bins for breeding tanks including myself. Plastic is more porous than glass but as long as you don't put chemicals or soap in it it can't absorb it. I keep a lot of my males in one gallon pickle and olive jars. Some are glass and some are plastic. I've kept them in these off and on for 40 years.
