I have put my flat screen tv on the wall but now all the wires are hanging down from my tv to my sky box and my xbox etc. I have drilled a hole behind my tv and a hole near the floor so that I can drop the wires through to make it more tidy. I tied the cable to a wire coat hanger to push it though but the cavity is filled with insulation and i cant push the wires through to the bottom. Also there might be joists that I haven't found yet. Does anyone know an easier way of doing this? Thanks
Get a wire puller and insert it between the the drywall and the insulation vapor barrier(paper or plastic). There shouldn't be any joists in the way unless you have a split level house. If there is an obstruction it is probably conduit or fire blocking. I ran into fire blocking when doing my house and had to cut open dry wall and drill a hole to feed the wires through. Then I got expandable fire blocking foam to spray around in the hole with the wires after they were pulled. Lastly put back on the drywall and tape and paint. This was a lot of work but worth it for the look of a flat panel on a a wall with no wires showing. Or you could get track to put on the wall to conceal the wires that can be painted to match wall color and almost disappears.
Put my foot through the plasterboard and need to get it fixed asap. how would i be able to repare it ? its about 4-5 inches wide and about 3 inches long.
The quickest and easiest fix is to go to a big box home store when they open this morning and buy the drywall patch kit. It is a square or rectangular, semi hard flat piece of material that you can cover the hole with, then get a small container of drywall compound and a plastic drywall knife and follow the directions. Cost may be $15 max, may take you 25 minutes if lucky. Try to make it smooth the first time and sanding may be eliminated depending on how good you need the finish.
please help!
u need to have the right brackets and self tapping plaster bord screws to find good fixing place by tapping wall till u find a good fixing place
Black mirror attached to the wall above the wall is 2.8 meters long 0.37 wide, can live it, hang the glue with the marble, the mirror with a gypsum board to do the following and the mirror almost thick bottom, but also to catch, ? Similar to the L line gypsum board on the mirror
The base of the lens is preferably sandwich, or the base of the nine-board. This is the standard base material. In the paper gypsum board on the lens, the actual is also posted, but theoretically is not possible. Keep the room dry. The bottom with a care can be better.
We have a wall in between a bedroom & the landing that bows when you press it.We pulled some paper off to see what was underneath & plaster crumbled away, theres now 2 big holes in the wall & it seems only the paper is holding it together. You can see the wood slats under the plaster but they are very weak. We are desperate to get this sorted so we can put our house on the market . We've been told to just bang plasterboard on top of it all, we were going to crumble all of the old plaster off & then apply plasterboard. Can anyone suggest what would be best? Thanks
You could just put plasterboard up and then skim over it but if i were you i would replace the weak timber also. If it is only one wall, Depending on the size then you will only probably be looking at ?300 - ?400 for it all

Pay attention to distinguish between the use of parts, the general wall with the thickness of the gypsum board should adopt 1.2 cm, while the ceiling and other parts are suitable for 0.95 cm gypsum board. We need to put new wallpaper up in the bathroom but the wall is not plasterboard its chipboard. Do you use a special paste/glue as won't wallpaper paste (or paint as an alternative) soak into it? Also would we need to use a lining paper too as that is what we have taken off with the paper that was up.Thanks for your help.
1. Prep the wall by sealing it. Mix PVA with water about 50/50, and paint this on and let it dry, then do it again with a second coat. This will stop the natural absorbency of the chipboard from soaking the water out of the wallpaper adhesive (causing it to fail to set correctly). That way, later coats of wallpaper will stick. 2. Final prep: wash the dry, PVA-sealed surface with a coat of wallpaper adhesive that has been mixed too thin, so that after it dries there is a very thin coating of adhesive on the surface of the wall. 3. Apply lining paper horizontally onto the prepped dry wall in the normal way with wallpaper adhesive mixed as per the packet instructions. Allow to dry totally. 4. Wallpaper in the normal way. This is exactly the same procedure if the chipboard is not raw but has a veneer skin. You still need the PVA coat - on veneered board it isn't to compensate for the absorbency of the chipboard, but to compensate for the fact that wallpaper paste won't stick to naked veneered chipboard NB choose your wallpaper carefully - many are not suitable for the steamy atmosphere in a bathroom and will peel off after a few weeks
