Q:What are the advantages of gypsum board ceiling?
There are two major advantages: first with gypsum board for the ceiling, the weight is only 1/3 of the brick wall, in addition it has excellent fire performance, Sina decoration grab the foreman's decorative function, unique design style, gypsum board surface also do Very smooth, good workability. I hope you can adopt my advice.
Q:we want to put up hooks to hold the rod for curtains, but aren't sure what screws to use to keep the hooks in place. also, i'm thinking it might be plaster, but what are the options to use to help the screws stay firmly in the wall? the last time i tried this on a wall, the screws ended up coming out of the wall later and it was easy to just pull them out. any helpful advice is greatly appreciated.
Plasterboard and drywall both mean the same thing, so does sheetrock for that matter. Drywall is the term most people use. I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't using plaster to mean the same thing, although it's not, but plaster hasn't been used in the U.S. much for 50 years or more now (maybe since the '30's? I've only seen it in old houses, and one custom builder that was still using it a decade ago.) There are numerous types of screw anchors sold for use in drywall. I think the best is a dry wall anchor that you first drill a hole for, insert, and then tighten a screw into. You can put them anywhere, and they hold pretty good. Other people use toggle bolts, or plastic screw anchors, there's probably other choices too. Hardware stores always have these items in stock.
Q:What are the specifications of the light steel keel and gypsum board for the partition wall?
The thickness of the wall light steel keel is generally 75mm and 100mm, according to the requirements of the party. Gypsum board has 2400 * 1200 and 3000 * 1200 (unit mm) two, the specific use of that specification, as the case may be.
Q:can you put a punch bag on plasterboard?
Obviously you must mean plasterboard on brick? I am not certain but i am guessing this will cause cracks around the wall bracket and after time make cracks down the wall. Best answer if you could please.
Q:I live in a cheap house that has horizontal joists holding up a plasterboard hollow wall - hope this makes sense. Looks like someone opened the door too hard one day and halfway across the wall is a vertical crack. I have used wood glue, polyfilla and dulux flexible paint, but its still a nasty piece of work. i can't sand over the glue now!PS I live in the UK, so don't refer me to Walmart or use brand names as I can't just nip over there!
Hello UK. Well it sounds like you have a mess. What I would do is cut out the damaged areas between each stud making sure that you take out the plasterboard half way into the stud. Then replace the area with Sheetrock or plasterboard. The board should be cut to fit the hole and you should be able to screw to the existing studs. If you dont have enough board to screw to, then build a new box made of 2x4s and then put up your new board. Then its just tape and mud to finish.
Q:in england we use plasterboard and nail it to the joists then plaster over it for a smooth finish
Sheetrock Uk
Q:there are a lot of mice in my area, my cats are forever catching and killing them. my neighbour has had them inside her house (she has no cats). last night both my cats were upstairs, staring at the wall. i put them out when i went to bed and then heard all this scratching in the wall behind my bed. its a plasterboard wall filled with insulation and doesnt lead anywhere else, unless they've chewed their way thru the ceiling or chipboard floor. why on earth wud mice come in when they cant get food??? and how the heck do i get them out without making holes in the wall?
they probably got in under the skirting boards (The usually white bits of wood around the bottom of the walls that is near the floor) Its warm and cosy in there and very safe. (Have you ever seen tom and jerry? your cat cant get in there) They will leave at night time and get food from outside or whatever is lying around the house.
Q:What is the difference between gypsum board and plastic plate?
There are two kinds of gypsum board; One is only decorated with ceiling - silicon calcium gypsum board. General specifications are 600 * 600 * 14mm or 300 * 300 and 600 * 1200mm One is to do the ceiling and partition dual use, that is, you said the ordinary paper gypsum board. National standard specification thickness is 9.5mm.12mm.15mm. General length and width is 2400 * 1200 and 3000 * 1200mm. Ordinary paper gypsum board putty putty, the surface is smooth. Indoor lighting is not a strong case, there will not be too much reflective. You can brush latex paint on gypsum board. Plain paper gypsum board paper color is generally gray. Light green and pink. Are ordinary, resistant to moisture and fire board. If the construction in accordance with the strict accordance with the construction standards, if not severely under the heavy force will not be exposed. Gypsum board after the current secondary processing, has appeared in the fabric. Aluminum and other products. General fine decorative paper gypsum board.
Q:I really want to put a flat LCD tv onto my plasterboard wall and was wondering how much weight they can usually take. I did want to hang about a 32 inch which would be about 25kg...
find a stud will hold more weight than just the wall itself
Q:Can those JML pull up bars be used on a wall that isn't brick?
