Would normal emulsion work or would i need to use something else? thanks: No need to skim it. I use Kilz primer/sealer on walls I have built/repaired. You can have it tinted to closely match your final color.

Q:I'm buying a cheap floating shelf for 20 so I can hang it on my bedroom wall (plasterboard). I'm buying it for a new stereo I'm getting , but I don't know how to hang the shelf up. You can find one at any hardware store or even walmart. It will read the edges of the steel frames in the wall then you can lightly mark these readings with chalk. I am not sure how you plan on hooking fasteners into a steel frame? You may want to ask the pro at home depot or Lowes for some advice.
