Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q:why do linoleun floors yellow with area rugs?
Two main things. One is that your area rugs may have solvents or fabric protectants (such as anti-stains or water repellants) that react with your linoleum. Another is that the linoleum that is not covered by the rugs have photo-oxidized (light fades it a little bit), leaving the ones under the rugs relatively newer or yellower than the exposed areas.
Q:How long should a carpet be changed and washed? How to do if there are lice on carpet?
First of all, we have to do a good job of cleaning for prevention of lice. What effect does 75% alcohol has? If we use vinegar to prevent lice, can we use the common one that can be found in the market easily? If lice exists, it will be the form of eggs, you should often take a bath and wash your hair? How to use it and how long should it be used?
Q:I have not always found snug bugs in my rugs......so I am taking a poll here today to see if this saying could have some real validity to it. Do YOUR rugs have snug bugs? If so, how many snug bugs can you count in your rugs? And lastly, why on earth do we tolerate snug bugs in our rugs? What think you?
Its just a saying....
Q:Carpet how to take care of the cleanest?
The carpet had been scorched, not serious, use a stiff brush or brush off part of the nickel will burn out if serious burn marks, and then book pressure on it, wait until after dry, in combs. 6, carpet dust removal. Wash the broom in soapy water, sweep the carpet, keep the broom moist, then sprinkle with salt, then sweep with a broom, and finally wipe with a dry cloth. When cleaning carpet, conditional can wash chemical fibber carpet, dry. Wool carpets had a period of time in the sun Sai for a while, pay attention to the carpet over Sai, beating with a stick hanging on the rope, will try to remove dust. This can also effectively kill mites on the carpet.
Q:My male cat just recovered from a urinary tract infection. He urinated on my beautiful fairly new woven rug for the very first time (he ALWAYS goes in his litter box); that's how we knew he had an infection. Ever since that one little offense, he decided that the rug is his and he drags it around my house. I sprayed and cleaned his tinkle off of it immediately right after the offense, why is he doing this? I put the rug back but over and over he drags it to other rooms. How can I claim my rug back?
Wow - I've never heard of a rug-stealing kitty. You should video tape it and put it on u-tube. But that aside, I'm not sure what to tell you to try. The only thing that may work is to spray the rug with some Bitter Apple spray and that should stop him from chewing on it and picking it up.
Q:SO my dog had bad diaheria and made a nasty nasty mess on the carpet in a few spots and it was just aweful so only thing i had was oxi clean so put oxiclean on the spots which were very large spots and now its super white in those spots which is better then poo but looks crazy... what can I do to make it look not as noticable? Only thing i could think of is get oxiclean and add it to water and steam clean the whole carpet and maybe it wont be as bad but that would take TON of oxiclean does anyone have any ideas?
put a lot of bleach in your steam cleaner, at least maby it will kind of even it up.
Q:I have a 7 month old who just started crawling. We bought carpet freshener a few weeks ago not thinking about if it would be safe to use with the baby here. Is it ok? Any tips?
carpet fresh stays in the carpet even when vaccumed i realized this when i tore old carpet out to replace it was under the carpet still so i say no dont use it
Q:My house is 5 years old. The carpet looks like it is 15 years old (cheap builders carpet). I have 2 dogs (both about 50lbs) and a cat. We are trying for our first child. Would you reccommend the hardwood laminate flooring or a better quality carpet?
Here is what I have noticed with my friends who have laminate or hardwood floors versus those of us that have carpeting. 1 - Wood floors are very unforgiving with crumbs and such on them, you have to constantly sweep them to keep them looking nice and crumb free. When they go unswept they will actually look worse than most carpetings. 2 - Carpets with pets will need to be vacuumed at least every other day. While carpeting is forgiving and doesn't show all the crumbs that might be on the floor, you do have to worry about spills and the whole allergens being trapped in it and all. 3 - With laminate flooring, if you drop something on it there is always the chance that the laminate will crack and the wood underneath will show through..while something like Bamboo, which is a renewable resource is the same color all the way through. So, for me it is a matter of wether you want to vacuum constantly or sweep constantly. I grew up in a household where we had carpeting and dogs inside. None of us had a problem with allergies or anything like that...but, my Mom does vacuum every other day and would also sweep the tile every other day as well. I think it is sixes as far as work and upkeep goes...wood is just more popluar right now.
Q:good loom for rugs and placemats?
I didn't go to your links, but Schacht looms are some of the best made. I would really like to have a 2- harness Schacht to make rugs with! I have a 4-harness LeClerc and it is heavy enough to do what I want all the way from rugs to fine fabrics. I suggest you get some of those link together mats to put under your loom to prevent walking and to dampen the banging we get when making rugs!! Dust vacs work well to get up the lint we make. Enjoy your new loom as much as I enjoy my antique LeClerc! (it has a 4 digit serial number!)
Q:I have a bissel carpet shampooer. I use that wit hot water and the bissel cleaning solution... Which is okay working.. But I need to DEEP clean my carpets. Whats the best cleaning solutions I can use in my shampooer or pour directly on the stains? The stains are mostly pet stains (no odor) and the stairs get bad because of all the foot traffic. Any diy home remedies or anything really, thanks!
I usually use a strong (50:50) mix of water vinegar to use as a pre-treater. I put it in a spray bottle spray it on the spots. I make my own carpet shampoo with Zote soap. I've found it works a lot better than the store-bought shampoos. I grate a bar of Zote--or better yet, use Zote flakes if you can find them in your area-- mix a couple tablespoons in water, shake til combined fill my shampoo reservoir. I also add vinegar to the water in the machine. I have the Bissell Pro-Heat.
