Q:A 3000-lb wrecking ball hangs from a 40-ft cable of density 10 lb/ft attached to a crane. Calculate the work done if the crane lifts the ball from ground level to 40 ft in the air by drawing in the cable.
The total work done by the crane equals the potential energy gained by the wrecking ball and the cable; the potential energy gained is W = V_final = Mg L + ρ L g L/2 which is the final potential energy of the wrecking ball and the cable added together. In the case of the cable, you take the center of mass of it which is located right at the center (L/2). The result is then W = 3000*32*40 + 10 * 40 * 32 * 40 / 2 = 4096000 ft-lbf = (4096000)*(0.001285067) BTU = 5263.63 BTU
Q:3years after I quit a job,I am once again looking toward the same field it's just that in my old job they helped me get a crane license when I left the job they kept my certification .How can i get that info without asking my old work for it,or would i have to take the course over?
There is actually no such thing as a crane operators licence - you should tell your new employer that you had undertaken a course in your previous employment and were authorised by them to operate their cranes. The new employer will most likely then send you on another course and issue you with their operators authorisation. The authorisation from your old employer is not transferable to the new one so not having the certificate is not a major problem. It is however good practice for employees to receive a copy of the certificate for their own records.
Q:hi, i was just looking for a guide to change a full stock to a crane stock on an m4, (its wired to the back)i dont actually have the gun yet im buying it from a freind, so i havnt had a chance to look at it but the the gg gr16-r4i was wondering if its just a m4 with a stock that is wired to the back, how there is the two long screws that run from the back of the buffer tube to the body, then you just switch it out for a crane stock...anyway anything would be great, thanks
you need a crane stock and a buffer tube for it. the full stock does not use a buffer tube. you simply guide the wires through the buffer tube (once you attach it to the back) and into the stock. then just pu the stock on and put the batteries in and viola! crane stock!
Q:My great grandparents' kamon was the crane and I was thinking of getting it as a tattoo for a symbol of my family. However, I'm not sure which it is. I've bought a book on Japanese Crests especially for this, and saw a couple of crane crests but was wondering if there's an origami crane kamon? And if there is, what is the meaning of it?Thank you very much for the help in advance!

Q:i just ordered a new JG 614 crane stock and do not know how to use the crane stock i would like to learn before it arrives can i have a link to a video or explanation please
You first need a crane stock battery, as a normal battery won't fit in just one side of the crane stock. When you but the battery, you'll have two or three clusters of cells. Begin experimenting with the cord placement in the stock, by putting one cluster on one side and one (or two) on the other. You'll see what I mean when you get the gun. That's all there is to it, just a little experimenting.
Q:I have an odd fear of construction cranes. I literally get chills and almost dizzy anytime I see cranes. I get very nervous and almost want to cry. I know this is so odd but, I've seen phobias of things that are even more odd so I wonder...is there a phobia for my fear? Does anyone else share my fear?
Cranes were a christian analogy for saving people. The crane would be used to lift someone out of hell. So, maybe the phobia comes with the realisation that we are actually in hell and a crane won't do that much good. As far as robots, they're all bad and creations of Lucifer. The good ones are the Saints and the bad ones the devil; they're both Satan's creations who's goal is to destroy humans. Of course they work with Satan and do time travel and all that garbage.
Q:Write a fully developed paragraph that contrasts the effects of war in two of the following works: Cranes, Thoughts of Hanoi, and Tokyo.
I could not find Tokyo on the internet...I will look for it later because the first two selections were so good. I did find and read Cranes and Thoughts of Hanoi. The thing that struck me most was that they both had in the back of their minds, in their memories, the thoughts of childhood in their home countries, all its mysteries and beauties...and as well all the regular, daily life going-ons of the communities. It was all still alive to them in their mind, and indeed, in real life. Those same trees they climbed as children still grew. farmers still grew crops. Birds were still birds, wild and free, or caught and sold. War is so awful, so much death, I think you are astonished to find that life still goes on. Much changes yet much remains unchanged. The great wheel of life turns.
Q:Last week, I decided to make 1000 paper cranes as a new project. I am very craft- oriented, and have made numerous knitted scarfs, crocheted blankets (still in the works), and cross stitch patterns for family members. I have made 2 large cross stitch patterns, one for my grandma (took me 2 years to do) and one for my dad (2 months). My mom's birthday is coming up, and I was wondering if I should give her 1000 paper cranes as a present? I haven't yet given her anything that I made, and I feel bad about it. I don't have enough time to cross stitch a pattern or anything, and I can easily make 1000 by December. Would it be a sentimental present? Should I do it? Would she like it? If not, what should I get her? I want it to be something that I made so that it will be personal.
Lol if you *really* want to be crafty... Get a spring (Or several) Glue it to the bottom of a box. Then glue a cardboard piece on top. Then put something heavy... (For example, a glass crane, shoudn't cost much) and put all the paper cranes under it. Then... when she opens the present and takes the glass one out the paper ones will fly everywehre :D
Q:What kind of flower is the Sunset Crane?
Okay, i'm going to get every backyard gardener east of denver jumping down my throat on this one, but it's time you all wake up and know the real name of one of your favorate potted plants. only then will you beleave me when i tell you the sunset crane is a type of geranium. the true geranium. not the plant most people know as the geranium is botanically Pelargonium. that silly looking, red flowered, fuzzy leafed thing everyone loves to stick in a pot by their front door every summer back east and mistakenly call a geranium is not really a geranium. even the fancy Martha Washington geranium is not a geranium. it is the Martha Washington Pelargonium. but whats the use? unless you are a botanist everybody back east is going to say i'm just another fruit cake from california. (born and raised in wisconsin i'd like to add) okay, your sunset crane is botanically a geranium, often called by it's common name cranesbill. okay, you have the real best answer, so go ahead and pick the wrong best answer from some smuck from back east who knows best. sure i have two post graduate degrees in science, been a univ certified master gardener for over 15 years and just might know a tad bit more then the eastern fair weather, summer time gardener. but don't let that prevent you from thinking i'm nuts and choosing a better, best answer. i'm used to it. grandma is always right... until her plant dies. then they call me for the real low down.
