- Q:I have fears that effect my everyday life. - Depends on what the old pipes look like inside, if they are not corroded too badly, I would stick with the galvanized. Copper would be my 1 choice but unless you're going to replumb the whole house, there's no real need for the copper. However if you put just enough copper hanging down thru the floor you can convert the rest of the house at a later time without having to disturb your new wall. As an experienced handyman I would not suggest pex for anything in an unaccessible area, it tends to leak, unless you have the kit that actually thermally welds the fittings.

- you need a touch bar, with the right door closer it will shut and lock it when closed, their not really used for residential but they can be fitted to do the job. when you push the bar in the door unlocks, and springs back on its own and locks the door when you let go, it also comes with a allen key to lock the bar in the open position, so you don't lock yourself out. very handy, but can cost a bit. they range from 95 dollars and up. they work dam good so it would be worth keeping this user out of your house, good luck, home depot sells them. make sure you use a good door closer.

- Q:A friend of mine gave me a used Mac Pro he found. Everything works fine except it has one of those annoying cable locks clamped on the back. He said he took bolt cutters to the cable to try and shorten it, but the lock part and a few inches of cable remain. I tried pulling on it and twisting it, but nothing works.
