Is this something I could learn to do on my own, or is this too much of an undertaking for a beginner? I can sew, and have a sew. machine (a regular Kenmore, not a heavy duty). - Try the no slip umder padding that's actually meant for under rugs. It comes in different sizes and may work for your situation as well.

- I okorder /... Unless your husband is willing to do the cleanup for these stains himself he should not object to you taking reasonable steps to prevent them with a cover to protect the furniture. While I sympathize with him for having to deal with inconvenient side effects, it would be immature to gripe about something that mitigates the problem and saves you work.

- First you need to find out if your leather sofa is pigmented or aniline dyed. If the leather is simply fading, you can rejuvenate it by with leather products. However, if you’re looking to reapply the color or change the color altogether, I would suggest to contact a professional leather restorer. Most leather grades are “finished”, meaning a pigmented (protected) leather. Higher grade leathers are referred to as “fully aniline” or “unfinished” and it’s basically a dye that stains the leather. This type of leather can be restored to a “finished” leather, for example, by a professional restorer.
- Q:I have tried so many ways of trying to stop her from doing this but nothing seems to work! She knows the word 'off' and does as shes told sometimes but other times she doesn't listen and thinks its a game. I can't ignore her because then she'll just think shes allowed and I've tried coaxing her off with a toy or physically removing her. I've even got to the point at shouting at her but I don't think that helps! lol She's got a bed in the lounge with a padded bottom so it's comfy too but this doesn't stop her from using the sofa. It's not a very intricate piece, just a pretty basic but nice three cushion sofa.A friend of our family reupholsters furniture so I'll probably be able to get some kind of discount, however I'm trying to get an idea of about how much reupholstering usually runs.
- To recover the average sofa, labor alone is about $1000.00, and that is NOT including the fabric. Fabric can add anywhere from $300.00 on up to the cost. This is why when I've recommended to folks that the best furniture out there is the older stuff that can be re-done they decide to purchase something new because for another $500.00 or so they can get a set that would include the sofa, maybe a loveseat or a chair as well. What the customers' don't realize though is that the frame and support system of the newer sofas in that price range are inferior to what the older stuff has. Sadly I've got accounts that sell sofas for over $10,000.00 and sad to say even those aren't all that well built either.
