Anti freeze (ethylene glycol) has a sweet odor, as for the color change, got me there. Some anti freeze's are green, have you drained and re-filled or just topped off?

A portable water pump. They come in a variety of sizes depending on your needs. A friend of mine runs a window cleaning service from the back of his truck. I don't know what size pump he has but I do know he also has a permanent water tank fitted as well as all the other fittings accoutrements for the job.

Q:I own a Camaro 1995 V6 3.4L automatic, it was diagnosed that the water pump was leaking and I was going to take it in on Saturday 3/1/08. But this morning I drove it and it seem that the car is losing power the RPM goes all up to 4-5 thousand to make a speed change. The car seems to stall like if it gets stuck the RPM goes up and eventually the next speed kicks in. I will be taking the car in tomorrow 2/27/08 to see whats wrong but I was hoping maybe someone knows whats wrong so that I can have an idea before someone tries to take advantage of me. I do know that the car started leaking water/coolant more than before after that little drive in the morning.The car is very well kept oil change is always on time .I always make sure that the water and the oil is level. transmission fluids are clean. You may have got it hot and blown a head gasket. That would take away the power as it got hotter.

Q:The meter on my dash was reading low even after driving for 20 minutes on a sunny day. Then all of a sudden it jumped over the 270 mark. I have a relatively new thermostat could my water pump have gone bad? I did not see any leaking coolant or anything under the vehicle.

IIRC it's just like the v8 chevys. Bottom rad hose is out of rad, into pump. Top rad. hose is out of engine, into rad.

The simplest manual pump is the lever-arm pump. This is just an elongated cylindrical reservoir, a valve casing, and a pump chamber in a linear arrangement. A piston within the pump chamber is connected to a link, and a handle which is used to pump the water. You can make a simple one by converting an ordinary bicycle pump. Attach an input hose to the air inlet, and an output hose to the pressurized air output for the tire. A good way to develop plans on how to make it would be to visit your local sporting shop or auto parts shop and look over their pumps. .

Q:No water will come out of any faucet in the whole house and I do not know what to do, if I need a whole new pump/tank or what could be causing this please help

Sounds like you have a jet pump, the kind with the pump above ground? If so, the motor to pump seal may have gone bad, those are ceramic, and you can look at a new one compared to an old seal, and see no obvious difference. You may have a slight leak in one of the lines or hoses there at the pump, or close to it. You may have simply lost prime, which can happen if you have a small leak or if the water table drops. If you are able to prime the pump, it may take off and start pumping water again, but you may need a technician to come repair things, depending on what is wrong. Oh yeah, turn the [pump off, don't let it run and do nothing, because the seal will overheat! -Saw another poster answered you first, (I type slow) and he gave you more info than I, sounds like they used to work on them too. good luck.
