Q:Recently moved from the UK, so I need power cables for the following:- External Hard Drive- Skype Phone Base Station- etcThese appliances come with a power cord from the socket to a small circular head that plugs into the said appliance.I've looked in Walmart, and all they have is a mutihead adaptor for 18 bucks, when I really need just a power cord with the wall socket and the right size circular head.Any advice is appreciated!
Go to stores like Best Buy, Radio Shack, or Fry's. Those devices use power supplies, not just cords. If it used just a cord, it would likely have an IEC two or 3 pin inlet, where you likely can easily get a replacement standard US plug cord. The small circular plug is coaxial, and exclusively used for low voltage (below 50 volts). The HDD at least may use a universal supply (all mine do), in which case a plug adapter will work. Check the Skype power supply, it might be similar.
Q:I am dead!!! My mom and Dads' Town Country is old, a 1996, but my dad loves it. He keeps it looking new. He will never get rid of it. I am 20y/o and screwed up. I slammed the driver side door and when I tried to roll it up, the back came up. Not the rest. I took the door apart, and there are cables all undone, and I don't know what the hell to do. I don't have a lot of money or time. They will be back in three days. I called the dealer, they said $300.00. I'm toast. Can anyone save me from this death sentence?
if your dad loves chrysler he knows they have this problem . i will bet its not the first one to be replaced on that car. it has probably been going for a while, they get old and bind up. call a local junkyard since cost is such a factor or call auto zone and get a price. but this should not be the problem you think its going to be call him and tell him now, that will give him time to cool off before he gets to you!!
Q:The Leader of the band inists that all power cables connected to the amplifires be placed away from the performance area.
To prevent injury to performers and to protect equipment from potential shorts and for fire safety.
Q:I bought a Zmodo CCTV system. The system came with 60' of cable,so I purchased some 165' cables.I would like to have more, but I can't find anything longer than 165' anywhere. Is that the longest size that they manke?Thank you
Extend them yourself
Q:My system was working fine until today. The bass stopped hitting to the music and thumps in intervals of about 5 seconds regardless of whether the music is turned up or down. I hooked up my system without my capacitor to see if this was the problem. It worked...but only for a minute. The bass was hitting like it was suppose to but all of a sudden it went back to the interval thumping and the power cable got hot to the touch and the fuse inside the holder was melted. What the heck is the problem?
wow, you need bigger cable, right now. if your cable overheats and melts the casing, you're screwed.
Q:My friend gave me a PS2 as a gift of Friendship but it was missing a cable. And that cable was the power cable. He told me I can use a power cable that some radios use, and it will be the same. Although I have doubts. I think I have like 2 radios out back so I'm wondering if they actually DO work. I'm going to attempt this tomorrow so I need a answer ASAP and please don't make it a simple answer, include some detail if possible. Like what exactly is the Power Cable I need so I can take a look at the Radio's power cable to see if its the right one. I'm unfamiliar with the Power Cable actually because I haven't seen a PS2 in almost 4 years since I got my PS3.
I've done it. It really depends on the wire, not only if it fits the PS2.
Q:Will it work if I put a pigtail (connect the wires by twisting them together) or does that stop it from working properly..
That would not be wise. Alot of power is traveling through that cable. Chances are you might fry your laptop or start a fire. Just go buy a new cable
Q:what can i do so i can use my DL burner on my new pc?
EIDE (Enhanced IDE) is no longer a standard on most computers which uses SATA. In turn, they also use different power connections. The channel cable is dependent on the mother board, but the power supply is dependent on the power box. If there is an IDE channel, but no power cable, you have only two options. 1. Buy a new SATA based drive. 2. But a new power supply. Buying a new power supply to replace the one you have is definitely a void of warranty. You are much better off with a new drive.
Q:on the end of the cable that connects to the laptop not the power outlet
It's a ferrite bead, used to filter electrical noise on the cable before it enters your laptop.
Q:The inside of my computer has a modular power supply that did not come with enough cables, and I have a graphics card that requires two 6 pin connections to the power supply. Luckily, my power supply has just enough open slots. The problem is that I can't find a place to buy a simple 6 pin cable. It needs to be about a foot long to reach. Can someone please help me? I would prefer newegg if possible, but I searched there and I'm getting pretty frustrated.
You'd need to buy it from your PSU's manufacturer as those tend to be proprietary. It's strange it didn't come with all the cables though.
