Q:How to wire fixture to switch?
tricky subject. check out from bing and yahoo. this can assist!
Q:I am installing a GFCI and the box has a red wire...what is it for?
How To Connect Gfci Outlet
Q:How do I close off exposed wires...?
Congratulations on getting the dishwasher removed. That certainly is the hardest part. Here are a couple of suggestions 1) You can use wire nuts (if you have any) or use Black Electrical tape. It's very inexpensive, (does not conduct electricity) and you can find it at most grocery store and hardware stores. Wrap each wire independently with plenty of tape, then wrap a good layer of tape around both (wrapped) wires. The next thing to do , is to make sure the electrical wire does not touch the floor (in case of a water leak etc..) Coil up the wire, (close to where is comes out of the wall) and use the black electrical tape to fasten / wrap around it. 2) You could add a (on/off) switch on that line. Put the on/off switch in a safe and easy place to access... even with a dishwasher installed! That way you don't have to turn off the whole circuit, just that individual line to the dishwasher. Hope this help!
Q:Determine the resistivity of the wire.?
Resistance of a wire in Ω R = ρL/A ρ is resistivity of the material in Ω-m L is length in meters A is cross-sectional area in m² A = πr², r is radius of wire in m Use current and voltage to determine resistance. Plug that into the above and solve for ρ. Be sure to change numbers into meters.
Q:Where I can get paperclip wire.?
Paper Clip Wire
Q:Buying low voltage wire?
Belden is a good source, there are lots of other. But I suspect you want a multi-wire cable, not a wire. You need to specify the number of conductors, and the size of each. The 12 volts is not relevant. The insulation voltage is. Also, note that for long runs, you have to increase the wire size. .
Q:wiring dimmer switch for ceiling fan correctly?
Ok, leave the copper and green wires alone as well as the white wires. Now the red and black coming from the same set should be your fan/light switch legs with red being light and black for fan itself. You may have to go into the fan ceiling box itself as it sounds the fan and light kit are connected to red wire in ceiling box especiallly if dimmer switch is controlling both. The other blacks are power legs. If both wires from fan/light are tied in with red wire, seperate them and connect the blue wire from light kit to red and cap off. With switch off, connect black wire from fan to those black wires that are capped off in box. If this isnt right connections, contact me via my email address on profile
Q:drive-by-wire & drive-by-brake?
think maybe think of road as wire learn how and when to brake but this might be what it is
Q:12/3 wire to 14/2 wire?
No you should either use a 20 amp breaker and 20 amp recepticles or if you use a 15 amp breaker then use 14/2 or 14/3 wire. Too heavy of wire creates a fire risk. If your new home was wired to code, this seems quite odd.
Q:How to replace electrical outlet 6 wires?
For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awtUt Try this. take the plug out of the box, so that just the 7 wires are hanging there. Of course, your power is off before you do this. Take the 3 white wires and twist all their copper ends together. Then flip the breaker on. If the breaker does not trip, most likely those white wire are all neutral. If the breaker does trip, one of those white wires is being used as a hot (black) wire. If the breaker did not trip, turn the breaker off again. Now twist all 3 black wires together, flip the breaker on. If the breaker does not trip, the black wires all belong together. If the breaker does trip now, one or two of the black wires is being used as a neutral or is coming from a different source, such as another breaker or going through the outlet to somewhere else in the house. If the breakers don't trip either time, all black wires belong together and go on the brass screw of the outlet (or the side with the small opening). All the white wires go on the silver screw (or large opening of the plug). If it doesn't work, you will need an electrical tester to find out which wires are hot or wires that don't belong together because they may be a different voltage. Don't want to confuse you but there may be 220 volts in the plug between 2 of the black wires.
